Title: Firewall & Automation Architect

Duration: Minimum 1-year contract engagement + Possible Extension

Location: Chennai, Bangalore, Coimbatore, Hyderabad (Work from Office). Other locations: Hybrid model with a minimum of 3 days per week from the nearest office.

Overview

We are supporting a strategic banking client initiative and are seeking a senior Architect-level professional to join the Engineering Architecture team. This role will drive the alignment of firewall engineering, automation, and development practices while supporting the organization's transition toward modern and open-source security technologies.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide architectural leadership for firewall and network security platforms.
• Define and drive automation strategies across firewall operations and engineering functions.
• Align development and automation initiatives with the broader Engineering Architecture roadmap.
• Lead the evaluation and adoption of open-source firewall technologies and related security solutions.
• Design scalable automation frameworks leveraging scripting and software development best practices.
• Mentor engineering teams and establish architecture standards, governance, and best practices.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define long-term security and infrastructure strategies.

Required Skills & Experience

• Expert-level knowledge of enterprise firewall technologies including Fortinet, Palo Alto, and Cisco.
• Strong understanding of network security architecture and security operations.
• Experience evaluating or implementing open-source firewall platforms.
• Advanced scripting and development skills (Python, PowerShell, Ansible, or similar).
• Experience leading automation and infrastructure-as-code initiatives.
• Proven track record in architecture, design, and technical leadership roles.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
