Responsibilities of Design & Estimation Engineer (FIRE PROTECTION)

Responsibilities include discussing and coordinating with team members as well as Seniors over the various Enquiries generated by the sales and business development personnel as well as our esteemed system integrators for various Fire Fighting & Fire prevention projects being floated in the market related to Fire Alarm System, Sprinkler, Preaction System, Gas Suppression System, VESDA, Beam and Flame Detection, CCTV & Access Control System.

Understanding the Enquiry and BOQ received from a Technical Point of view and noting down all the deviations and remarks as well as discussing the same with Seniors before proceeding further.

Understanding the drawing layouts and technical specifications for the given project/tender, and then designing, drafting and calculating the most optimum cost-effective techno-commercial proposal for the same.

Drafting the BOQ as per the Tender Specifications, or as per the attached Drawing Layout received, carrying out the software calculation for the Fire Alarm System, VESDA & Gas Suppression System.

Estimating the project costs and the individual item costs and then drafting the techno-commercial BOQ/Quote, getting the same approved from seniors and then sharing the proposal to Customers with Datasheets.

Drafting the Proposed Pipe Layouts for Gas Suppression System and VESDA as per the orders received and then carrying out the Flow Calculation for the same. Sharing the Flow Calculation & Pipe Layout CAD Drawing with Customer for due approval.

Coordinating with Sales Team and Purchase/Logistics team for delivery of material to Customer and clarifying the technical as well as commercial queries of customers on the various products and solutions we deal in.

Understanding the Enquiry and BO received from a Technical Point of view and noting down all the deviations and remarks as well as discussing the same with Seniors before proceeding further.

Cold Calling potential leads through networks and searching from the internet, arranging client visits for the product introduction and also coordinating with current leads for closure on technical and commercial terms for conversion of order.

Working on the Techno-commercial Offer from a Commercial point of view and drafting the Quotation for the same. Selecting the best possible parameters and the products as well as the best possible discounts on the prices.

Coordinating with Clients and Customers to understand their requirement, application and the media so as to serve them our best possible products.

Coordinating & discussing with our OEMs like Flowserve, SANT & Viking Fire Products, for any technical queries and resolving the technical hurdles faced by our esteemed Customers.

Coordinating with Purchase department for any kind of delivery issues or any outsourced work related to Valves and Automation products.

Creating awareness and educating our customers on the various Automation products, Valves and Sprinkler Grooved Fittings, available catering to their demands and requirements

Discussing and coordinating with Directors and Senior Management regarding any technical challenges in finalizing any orders and also doing the follow up with Customers for updates on previously shared Quotations.

Job

Drafting various Enquiries based on the BOQ file, and sending the same to associated vendors, as per the approved make-list of items, and following up for the same to receive Quotations for completing Tender BOQ.

Submitting the Tender BOQ to consultants, attending Pre-Bid Technical Meetings, following up with vendors and clients on the status of project and bidding of Tender.

Processing of the Tender BOQ along with all the relevant documents, and submitting the same to the client within the respective timelines.

Costing & Estimation of all the line items as per the BOQ draft, as received from the client, and compiling of the best possible offer for bidding purposes.

Coordinating with Clients, OEMs and Vendors for completing the Tender on time and adhering to the Technical Compliance of the Tender BOQ as well as the Tender Guidelines lay out by Consultants.

Searching for new Tenders, as well as new Clients and Vendors and drafting them in our database, giving presentations and information about our company and our working structure as well as past clients and doing marketing and sales for the new upcoming tenders with potential clients and consultants.

Job

Learning the manufacturing methodologies of pumps, its specifications, customer requirements & various

applications of the same.

Drafting Quotation and Data-sheets of suitable pumps, in response to customer inquiries, and advising on the ideal pump model for the specified application. Verifying the same with H.O.D, for any discrepancies, and mailing the revised draft to the client.

Qualifications

• P G Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering

• 3+ years of relevant experience in Design and Estimation in fire protection or industrial products industry

• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Solid Works

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills

• Knowledge of fire protection products and systems is a plus

• CTC – 5 to 5.5 lakh PA
