Who we are?
YNOS Venture Engine is India's data intelligence platform for the early-stage startup ecosystem.
Founded by IIT Madras faculty and incubated at IIT Madras, we sit at the intersection of data, technology, and India's startup economy. Our long-term vision is to become India's supermarket for startups — the central platform through which any actor in the ecosystem can discover, engage with, and transact with the startup world, and are currently building the commercial engine that takes us there.
The Opportunity
As a Sales Development Representative, you will:
- Be responsible for building a structured, scored prospect universe, and turn the universe into a qualified pipeline for our Institutional Sales Executives.
- Build and maintain the prospect database, run targeted outreach across calls, emails, and LinkedIn, and ensure every lead handed to the BD team is qualified, contextualised, and ready to convert.
- Confirm the right contact at every institution, establish whether a real need and realistic budget exist, and book discovery meetings for the BD Executives.
- At the time of handoff to the BD Executive, a structured document including the BANT qualification, personal notes and institutional context is shared.
What we are looking for?
- 1–2 years of experience in sales prospecting or business development, ideally in an organisation selling software or digital products to educational institutions.
- Comfortable with high-volume outbound outreach — calls, emails, and LinkedIn — and disciplined about logging every touchpoint.
- Strong research instinct: you enjoy finding the right contact, reading institutional signals, and building a picture before the first call.
- Eye for detail and systems-thinking.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills.
- Well organized, detail-oriented, and reliable with excellent time management skills and an ability to meet deadlines.
- A graduate degree is preferred.
Work Location and Job Type:
- Our office is located at IIT Madras Research Park, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, surrounded by the beautiful IITM Campus!
- Terms: This is a full-time position in our Chennai office.
- Compensation: ₹4–6 LPA.
