Senior Video Editor

We are looking for a Senior Video Editor (Storytelling & Motion) to join our social team. This is not a pure editing role. We are looking for someone who understands storytelling, audience attention, and visual communication as deeply as they understand editing. You will be responsible for translating ideas into compelling visual narratives across YouTube, Instagram, and other digital platforms. Beyond editing videos, you will help shape how content is communicated, identify opportunities to improve retention, and ensure every piece of content is understandable even when watched without sound.

Job Responsibilities:

- Edit high-quality short-form and long-form content for YouTube, Instagram, and other social platforms.

- Translate scripts and briefs into visually engaging stories.

- Develop visual approaches, editing structures, pacing strategies, and retention techniques for content.

- Ensure videos are understandable and engaging.

- Identify opportunities to improve content before editing begins, including storytelling, visual communication, and audience retention.

- Create and maintain editing systems, templates, motion assets, and workflows that improve team efficiency.

- Use AI tools and emerging technologies to improve creative output and production speed.

- Stay updated on platform trends, editing techniques, and audience consumption behaviour.

- Strong motion graphics and visual packaging skills.

- Ability to communicate complex ideas through visuals, graphics, and animation.

- Strong understanding of YouTube and Instagram viewing behaviour.

- Ability to create videos that remain effective even when watched on mute.

- Strong grasp of retention-driven editing techniques.

- Ability to review a script and suggest improvements before production begins.

- Experience managing, mentoring, or reviewing the work of junior editors.

- Hands-on experience with AI tools and AI-assisted creative workflows.

- High attention to detail and strong quality standards.

Preferred Qualifications

- 5–7 years of experience in video editing, motion graphics, content production, or related fields.

- Advanced proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects (or similar tools).

- Strong portfolio demonstrating both storytelling and motion graphics work.

- Experience creating content for YouTube, Instagram, creator-led brands, media companies, or digital-first businesses.

- Experience working in fast-paced content environments with high publishing frequency.
