Job Description: ServiceNow Business Analyst
Role Summary
The ServiceNow Business Analyst (BA) acts as a key liaison between business stakeholders, technology teams, and ServiceNow developers to design, implement, and optimize ServiceNow solutions. This role drives requirements gathering, process design, and delivery of scalable workflows that enhance operational efficiency, governance, and user experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with stakeholders across IAM, InfoSec, and Technology teams to understand business needs and pain points
- Gather, analyze, and document functional and non-functional requirements (BRDs, user stories, acceptance criteria)
- Translate business requirements into ServiceNow solution designs
- Collaborate with ServiceNow developers to design workflows, catalogs, and QA functions
- Validate solution feasibility, ensuring alignment with platform capabilities and enterprise standards
- Support configuration of modules such as:
- ITSM (Incident, Problem, Change)
- Service Catalog
- Access Management / IAM workflows
- Act as primary interface between business users, product owners, and development teams
- Ensure clear communication of priorities, timelines, and dependencies
- Develop test scenarios and conduct UAT (User Acceptance Testing)
- Validate that developed solutions meet business requirements and control standards
- Support defect tracking, resolution, and sign-off processes
- Ensure solutions comply with ITIL, audit, and InfoSec requirements (e.g., access controls, approval workflows)
- Maintain comprehensive documentation:
- Process flows
- Functional specifications
- Knowledge base articles
- Support audit readiness and regulatory
- Work within Agile/Scrum framework—manage backlog, support sprint planning, and track delivery
- Ensure timely delivery of enhancements and BAU changes
Required Skills & Qualifications
Experience
- 3–8+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, preferably in ServiceNow environments
- Experience in ITSM, IAM, or enterprise platforms
Technical Skills
- Strong understanding of ServiceNow platform:
- ITSM modules
- Service Catalog
- Workflow / Flow Designer
- Knowledge of:
- ITIL processes
- Access & Identity Management (preferred)
- Data analysis and reporting
