Procurement/Purchase Executive
Job Description
Bengaluru · On site · Full-time · 2–3 years experience
About KeystoneKeystone Commerce is building the infrastructure layer for India's gig and platform workforce. Our first product, The Bazaar , is a live wholesale marketplace that puts essential gear and equipment into the hands of delivery and gig workers at the best possible prices. We work with some of India's leading quick-commerce, delivery, and mobility platforms — and we're scaling fast.
The RoleWe're looking for a sharp, high-energy Procurement Executive to own the day-to-day sourcing engine behind The Bazaar. You'll be on calls with vendors every single day — discovering products, negotiating rates, and locking in supply that lands in our warehouses on time and at the right price. Because our customers are price-sensitive gig workers, every rupee you save in procurement directly shapes our edge in the market. This is a hands-on, high-ownership role reporting directly to our Co-founder (Operations & Supply Chain).
What You'll Do- Run daily vendor outreach — make a high volume of vendor calls each day to source the right products, build a deep vendor funnel, and keep supply moving.
- Negotiate hard on price and terms — drive competitive rate negotiations, payment terms, and bulk/volume pricing to consistently bring down landed cost without compromising on quality.
- Source new products continuously — identify and onboard new SKUs and reliable suppliers in line with demand and category gaps.
- Own vendor relationships — build and manage long-term supplier relationships, empanel and onboard new vendors, and track performance on price, quality, and on-time delivery.
- Coordinate warehouse delivery — ensure procured stock reaches our warehouses within committed timelines; follow up proactively to prevent delays and stockouts.
- Manage procurement documentation — prepare and verify purchase orders (PO), delivery challans / delivery notes, goods receipt notes (GRN), and invoice matching with accuracy.
- Maintain the vendor database — keep clean, up-to-date records of vendors, rates, and order history; track spend and surface cost-saving opportunities.
- 2–3 years of hands-on experience in procurement, sourcing, purchase, or vendor management — ideally in retail, e-commerce, FMCG, manufacturing, or a fast-moving supply-chain environment.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills — you're comfortable on the phone all day, and you close better rates than the next person.
- Sharp commercial sense — you instinctively chase cost savings and understand how pricing drives a marketplace.
- Solid grasp of procurement processes — RFQ, PO management, vendor onboarding, GRN / three-way matching, and procurement documentation.
- Comfort with data — Excel / Google Sheets for tracking vendors, rates, and orders; familiarity with any ERP or inventory tool is a plus.
- Startup wiring — you take ownership, move fast, juggle multiple vendors and priorities at once, and thrive without hand-holding.
This role is best suited for professionals with up to 2–3 years of experience who are excited to build in an early-stage startup.
If you have significantly more than 3 years of experience, or have spent most of your career in large MNCs with highly structured processes, sophisticated systems, and extensive support functions, this may not be the right fit. As an early-stage startup, we run on lean teams, evolving processes, and a high degree of ownership and adaptability — and we're looking for someone who's energised by that, not slowed down by it.
Why Keystone- Build something that genuinely improves the lives of India's gig workforce.
- High ownership from day one — your sourcing decisions move the business.
- Work shoulder-to-shoulder with the founding team in a fast-scaling startup.
- Compensation is competitive and negotiable based on your experience and the value you bring.
