Assistant Manager- Hedging/ ForEx Management

Purpose of the Role:

The incumbent will be responsible for managing foreign exchange rate risks and hedging financial exposures arising from the Company's business and financing activities

The role will focus on optimizing cash flows, ensuring compliance with regulatory and internal treasury policies, and supporting effective financial risk management

Responsibility

• Identify, assess, and monitor foreign exchange exposures arising from imports, exports, foreign currency loans, External Commercial Borrowings (ECBs), trade payables and receivables, and intercompany transactions.
• Execute foreign exchange hedging strategies through forwards, options, swaps, and other approved derivative instruments in accordance with the organization's risk management framework and treasury policies.
• Coordinate with banks and authorized dealers for market pricing, deal execution, trade confirmations, and documentation.
• Ensure timely booking, rollover, cancellation, and closure of hedge contracts while maintaining compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
• Prepare and analyze reports on hedge coverage, hedge effectiveness, and realized/unrealized foreign exchange gains and losses.
• Perform currency risk analysis, including scenario modeling and sensitivity analysis, to evaluate the impact of exchange rate fluctuations on business operations and financial performance Monitor market trends, currency movements, and macroeconomic developments to support informed hedging and risk management decisions.

Qualifications

• CMA / CFA (Level I or above preferred
• Master’s in Financial Risk Management / Quantitative Finance
• MSc Economics with Financial Risk Focus

Required Skills

• Strong knowledge of foreign exchange (FX) markets and currency risk management
• Hands-on experience with FX derivatives (forwards, options, swaps) Proficiency in Excel and financial analysis
• Strong knowledge of technical and fundamental analysis
