Brainware University is looking for professionals for the position of Dean to

theSchool of Engineering. As one of West Bengal's Best Engineering Schools, Brainware School of Engineering offers a wide range of engineering programs in computer science, civil, mechanical, electronics and communication, electrical and electronic, and software engineering.

Key Responsibilities

1. Academic Leadership & Curriculum Innovation

  • Scale Management: Provide strategic direction to the massive CSE, CSE-AI&ML, CSE-CSDS and Electronics departments, ensuring that the quality of education remains uncompromised despite high student volume.
  • Curriculum Modernization: Review and update the engineering curricula periodically to integrate emerging industry trends (e.g., AI/ML, Cloud Computing, IoT, Next-Gen Electronics) in alignment with UGC guidelines.
  • Outcome-Based Education (OBE): Implement robust OBE frameworks across all engineering disciplines to ensure measurable student learning outcomes.

2. Regulatory Compliance & Accreditation

  • Statutory Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to the rules, regulations, and notifications issued by the University Grants Commission (UGC), and state regulatory authorities.
  • Accreditation Leadership: Spearhead institutional and departmental accreditation processes, including NAAC, NBA, and NIRF rankings, ensuring all data compiling and academic metrics meet high standards.
  • Documentation: Oversee the meticulous maintenance of all academic, faculty, and student records required for statutory inspections.

3. Faculty Management & Research Promotion

  • Research Mentorship: Leverage personal research experience (H-index publications) to foster a culture of research among faculty. Encourage grants, patents, and high-impact journal publications.
  • Ph.D. Ecosystem: Oversee the school's doctoral program, ensuring rigorous evaluation processes and mentoring faculty to successfully guide research scholars.
  • Faculty Development: Identify talent gaps, lead faculty recruitment drives, and organize Faculty Development Programs (FDPs) to upskill existing staff in modern pedagogy and technology.

4. Student Success, Placement & Industry Interface

  • Corporate Relations: Collaborate closely with the Training & Placement (T&P) cell to leverage industry networks, maximizing placement opportunities for the massive student cohort.
  • Student Grievance & Retention: Maintain an accessible administration to address student grievances, manage academic tracking, and implement measures to boost student retention and satisfaction.
  • Skill Amplification: Introduce industry-vetted certification programs, hackathons, and corporate-sponsored labs within the campus to bridge the academia-industry gap.

5. Administrative & Financial Oversight

  • Departmental Coordination: Synchronize workflows between the heads of departments (HoDs), administrative staff, and central university leadership for smooth daily operations.
  • Budgeting: Formulate and manage the annual budget for the School of Engineering, optimizing resource allocation for labs, infrastructure, and events.

Qual

  • ifications:
  • Ph.D. in Computer Science and Engineering & Electronics & Communication Engineering from a reputed university is mandatory for the Schools of
  • Engineering.Qualifying NET/SET examination is
  • preferable.Minimum 60% marks in Masters and brilliant overall acad
  • emic record.Minimum of 10-15 years of experience in teaching or industry is mandatory. Out of these, at least 2 years as Dean or any leadership position in a private University i
  • s desirable.Minimum 10 publications in H-Indexed journals and at least one PhD awarded scholar.

Desirable Skills:

  • Thorough knowledge of rules and regulations of UGC and other regulatory bodies.
  • Strong knowledge of accreditation processes.
  • Strong leadership skills along with a proven record of handling academic administration.
  • Good communication & people management skills.
