Comprehensive, senior-level full time job responsibility for the role of Google Cloud (GCP) Pre-Sales Solution Engineer/Architect in India. Designed for a professional with 10--12 years of experience, it focuses on strategic deal-shaping, commercial modelling and delivery execution.
Role Overview
As a strategic pre-sales leader, you will sit at the intersection of Sales, Delivery, and Client Leadership. You will lead the technical win for multi-million-dollar transformations, transforming ambiguous client challenges into clear, buildable, and profitable Google Cloud solutions.
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic Deal Shaping & Opportunity Management
- RFI/RFP/RFQ Leadership: Own and drive the end-to-end response lifecycle for global RFPs and RFIs, ensuring technical credibility, clear messaging, and competitive differentiation.
- Proactive Deal Pursuits: Interact with Customer & Sales team to understand Client objectives, Scope elements and originate proactive transformation pitch well before a formal RFP is released.
- Architecture & Strategy: Lead technical discovery workshops to design robust GCP architecture, covering infrastructure modernization, cloud-native applications, and advanced Data/AI use cases.
2. Commercial Modelling & Financials
- Deal Costing & Sizing: Develop detailed commercial models, Project based effort estimation and statements of work
- Financials & ROI: Construct financially sound business cases, ensuring proposed solutions optimize total cost of ownership (TCO) and maximize Return on Investment (ROI) for clients.
- Risk & Margin: Balance competitiveness with delivery feasibility, appropriately pricing risks to ensure the profitability of managed services and complex system integration projects.
3. Delivery Alignment & Ecosystem Collaboration
- Seamless Handoffs: Partner closely with delivery and practice leads to ensure that architectures proposed during the pre-sales phase are realistic, resourced, and buildable.
- Go-To-Market (GTM) Integration: Collaborate with wider sales and ecosystem teams to productize capabilities into repeatable GTM offerings and standard reference architectures.
4. Executive Engagement & Storytelling
- Value Articulation: Deliver compelling architectural walkthroughs, product demonstrations, and whiteboarding sessions to CIOs, CTOs, and business stakeholders.
- Solution Defense: Confidently defend proposed solutions against objections regarding scale, security, and migration timelines.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Experience: 10--12 years in pre-sales, cloud consulting, or solutions architecture, with at least 4--5 years of dedicated Google Cloud experience.
- Tech Stack: Deep domain knowledge of Google Cloud priority workloads, including BigQuery, Vertex AI, Gemini, cloud-native modernization, and hybrid/multi-cloud infrastructures.
- Soft Skills: Executive-level communication, robust project management for running synchronized proposal teams, and the ability to build consensus across internal business units.
