About the Role
We are looking for an experienced SAP Extended Warehouse Management (EWM) Functional Consultant to support a large-scale implementation at a leading pharmaceutical manufacturer. This is a contract-to-hire engagement offering a path to a permanent role for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end EWM implementation and configuration across inbound, outbound, and internal warehouse processes
- Configure core EWM components: warehouse structure, storage types/sections/bins, work centers, process-oriented storage control, and warehouse orders
- Design and configure pick, pack, and ship processes including wave management, task interleaving, and delivery processing
- Support integration with PP, MM & QM modules — with particular attention to GxP-compliant material flows relevant to pharma environments
- Configure and support batch management, FEFO strategies, and serialization in alignment with pharma regulatory requirements (FDA, GMP)
- Drive blueprint workshops, gap analysis, and functional specifications for enhancements and custom developments
- Collaborate with ABAP/technical teams on RF framework, label printing (Smart Forms/Adobe), and system enhancements
- Support UAT, cutover planning, and post-go-live hypercare
- Work with QM integration for handling units, WM inspection lots, and release procedures where applicable
Required Skills & Experience
- 5–7 years of hands-on S/4 HANA SAP EWM functional experience.
- At least one full-cycle EWM implementation.
- Strong configuration experience: warehouse structure, putaway/picking strategies, exception handling, PPFs and posting change orders.
- Solid understanding of WM-to-EWM migration concepts and delta functionality
- Experience with pharma or life sciences clients strongly preferred — familiarity with batch traceability, serialization, and regulated material flows is a plus
- Ability to write detailed functional specs and work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong communication skills; comfortable engaging directly with business stakeholders and warehouse operations teams
Nice to Have
- Experience with SAP TM
- Exposure to ABAP
- Prior work on EWM mobile/RF scenarios
