Organisation Overview:

Role Overview:
Pahle India Foundation (PIF) invites applications from motivated postgraduates for two
intern positions at its Guwahati office. The interns will support PIF’s ongoing research and
policy engagements with the Government of Assam, contributing respectively to (i) field-
based tourism research and the framing of tourism policies, and (ii) the estimation of the
District Domestic Product (DDP) and the preparation of district-level vision documents
aimed at helping the state achieve a GSDP of USD 143 billion by 2029–30.
Position 1: Intern – Tourism Research & Policy
Qualifications:
• Postgraduate degree, or currently pursuing postgraduation, preferably in Development
Studies, Tourism, Economics, Statistics, or other relevant fields.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist the core research team in field-based research on tourism across project
locations.
• Plan, coordinate, and conduct stakeholder meetings and consultations with
government officials, industry players, and local communities.
• Undertake the compilation and organisation of field data gathered from primary and
secondary sources.
• Carry out qualitative and quantitative analysis of tourism-related data.
• Contribute to report writing, documentation, and the framing of tourism policies
and recommendations.
Position 2: Intern – Assam DDP Project (Economics / Statistics)
Qualifications:
• Postgraduate degree, or currently pursuing postgraduation, in Economics or Statistics.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist the project team in the estimation of District Domestic Product (DDP) for the
districts of Assam.
• Support the development of district-level vision documents aligned with Assam’s
growth targets.
• Conduct quantitative and qualitative analysis of economic and administrative data.
• Assist in coordination and communication with government stakeholders.
• Contribute to the preparation of reports, presentations, and documentation.
Skills Required (for both positions):
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Strong analytical, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
• Demonstrated report-writing and data interpretation abilities.
• Willingness to undertake fieldwork and travel as required (particularly for the Tourism
Research position).
Remuneration:
Based on skills and industry norms. A stipend may be considered for deserving candidates.
