Role Summary


Required years of experience: 12+ years

Required qualification: B.Tech (Electronics / Electrical)


The Production Lead will be responsible for end-to-end production operations , including production planning, assembly, testing, quality control, infrastructure development, and delivery management. The role ensures timely delivery, quality compliance, cost efficiency, and capacity enhancement while maintaining adherence to standards, industrial licensing requirements, and defense manufacturing protocols. The incumbent will lead production team for assembly, testing, QC/QA, maintenance.


Key Responsibilities


1. Production Leadership & Operations

  • Lead production operations in alignment with Annual Operating Plan (AOP) and management-defined targets.
  • Ensure timely assembly, testing, and delivery of products as per production schedule.
  • Manage production planning and control (PPC) to achieve delivery timelines.
  • Allocate manpower, and responsibilities across assembly, testing, QC/QA, and support activities.
  • Ensure daily production reporting (DPR) and monitoring of production performance.
  • Handle inter-department coordination with Sales, SCM, Engineering, D&D, and Accounts for smooth production flow.


2. Production Planning & Order Execution

  • Plan production orders upon receipt of Order Processing Form (OPF) from Sales.
  • Release production orders through SAP after inventory verification.
  • Coordinate with SCM for material procurement and availability.
  • Ensure issuance of materials via SAP for traceability and inventory control.
  • Manage production BOM coordination with Engineering / D&D department.


3. Assembly, Testing & Product Quality

  • Ensure the assembly process follows approved engineering drawings, work instructions, and flow charts.
  • Oversee IQC (Incoming Quality Control), IPQC (In-Process Quality Control), and OQC (Outgoing Quality Control).
  • Ensure parameter testing in Dark Room setup, range testing in field conditions, and environmental testing as required.
  • Maintain quality inspection reports, QC documentation, and testing records.
  • Ensure PDI (Pre-Dispatch Inspection) before dispatch of finished goods.


4. Technical Infrastructure & Capacity Expansion

  • Oversee maintenance and calibration of machines, equipment, testing setups, utilities, production infrastructure and technical assets.
  • Drive process improvement, production re-engineering, and productivity enhancement initiatives.
  • Plan facility expansion, infrastructure upgrades, and machine selection to support business growth.


5. Quality Management & Compliance

  • Ensure implementation of Quality Management System and standards across production processes.
  • Approve and issue quality manuals, procedures, work instructions, and formats.
  • Maintain quality records related to testing, calibration, and inspection activities.
  • Ensure adherence to approved QA/QC inspection formats.
  • Ensure compliance with Industrial License requirements.
  • Maintain documentation for defense manufacturing compliance and regulatory audits.


6. Vendor, Customer & Product Validation

  • Participate in vendor evaluation and finalization.
  • Support during customer interactions during product acceptance, trials, and demonstrations.
  • Provide final validation approvals for registration processes and documentation related to government, defense, and research establishments.


7. Repair & Service Operations

  • Oversee diagnosis and repair of faulty devices received from service/support teams.
  • Ensure proper defect analysis and assessment reporting.
  • Coordinate with SCM for spare parts procurement and with D&D / Engineering for technical repair support when required.


8. Training & Team Development

  • Identify training needs for production employees.
  • Conduct or arrange internal and external technical training programs.
  • Ensure proper production induction programs for new employees.
  • Facilitate training on new product assembly processes.


Qualifications/ Requirements

  • B.Tech / M.Tech in Electronics / Electrical
  • Additional certifications in Quality Management, Lean Manufacturing, or Six Sigma preferred.
  • 10–15+ years of experience in manufacturing/production operations.
  • Experience in defence, electronics manufacturing, electro-optics, or precision equipment production preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with production planning, assembly operations, and testing processes .
