Job Description

Role Objective:

A key objective of this role is to owns the integrity of the books of account from day-to-day accounting operations through to the finalization of accounts and drives the consolidation of financial statements and balance sheets across the multiple global entities of the Group.


The role drives end-to-end accounting operations, finalization of accounts, consolidation across multiple entities, audit readiness, statutory compliance, manufacturing and inventory accounting controls, and finance process improvement. The incumbent is expected to partner with business and plant stakeholders to strengthen financial discipline, control, and transparency.


Desired Candidate Profile:

  • Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) is mandatory.
  • Additional qualifications such as CMA, CPA, or MBA (Finance) will be an added advantage.
  • 6–8+ years of experience in the Finance & Accounts function, with strong exposure to manufacturing operations.
  • Strong hands-on expertise in SAP FICO, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, banking, and system-driven controls.
  • Demonstrated experience in finalization of accounts and consolidation of financial statements across multiple entities.
  • Good exposure to statutory and internal audit coordination, statutory compliance, MIS, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
  • Strong knowledge of applicable accounting standards and statutory frameworks, including GST, TDS, income tax, and related regulatory filings.
  • Experience in leading teams, strengthening internal controls, and driving ERP-enabled process improvements or automation initiatives.


Role & Responsibilities:

A. Day-to-Day Accounting Operations

  • Oversee day-to-day accounting activities across general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, treasury entries, and related accounting workflows.
  • Ensure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of accounting entries and transaction postings.
  • Ensure timely processing of vendor payments in line with approved payment plans and treasury controls.
  • Maintain trial balance hygiene through clearance of open GR/IR and SR/IR items, customs and freight clearing accounts, advances, reconciliations, and variance analysis.
  • Review bank reconciliations, cash flow positions, and payroll-related accounting entries on a regular basis.

B. Period-End Closing & Finalization of Accounts

  • Drive monthly, quarterly, and annual book closure within defined timelines.
  • Lead the finalization of accounts and preparation of standalone financial statements in accordance with applicable accounting standards.
  • Review provisions, accruals, prepayments, amortizations, and inter-company entries during closure.
  • Ensure complete schedules and supporting documents are maintained for balance sheet and profit and loss line items.

C. Consolidation Across Entities

  • Consolidate financial statements and balance sheets across multiple entities in a structured and timely manner.
  • Perform inter-company reconciliations, eliminations, policy alignment, and consolidation adjustments.
  • Manage currency translation and group reporting packs, where applicable.
  • Drive standardization of chart of accounts, reporting calendars, and closing processes.

D. Manufacturing, Cost & Inventory Accounting

  • Oversee manufacturing accounting, including standard costing, cost analysis, product costing, and inventory accounting.
  • Review inventory valuation, provisioning, movement accounting, and physical verification reconciliation.
  • Coordinate with plant and operations teams to strengthen cost control, inventory discipline, and accounting accuracy.

E. Audit Coordination, Compliance & Reporting

  • Coordinate statutory, internal, cost, and tax audits for timely commencement, smooth execution, and closure.
  • Prepare and review audit schedules, responses to observations, and action points for closure of audit findings.
  • Ensure full compliance with GST, TDS, income tax, and other statutory requirements across routine accounting operations.
  • Prepare and support submission of statutory data and returns, including filings required under relevant laws and regulations.
  • Ensure accurate and timely MIS, management reports, budgets, forecasts, and analytical reporting for leadership review.

F. Controls, Governance & Automation

  • Strengthen internal financial controls, SOPs, process governance, and the overall control environment across the finance function.
  • Act as process owner for SAP FICO-related controls, usage governance, and master data discipline.
  • Drive automation and digital transformation initiatives to improve efficiency, control, and reporting quality.

G. Team Leadership & Stakeholder Management

  • Lead, mentor, and develop finance team members through clear KRAs, regular reviews, coaching, and capability building.
  • Collaborate effectively with leadership, plant finance, taxation, treasury, procurement, production, stores, HR, IT, and auditors to ensure smooth finance operations.
  • Promote a high-performance, compliance-oriented, and control-focused finance culture.


Functional Skills Required:

  • Strong expertise in SAP FICO and finance process controls in an ERP environment.
  • Finalization of accounts and preparation of standalone financial statements.
  • Consolidation of financial statements across multiple entities, including inter-company eliminations and reconciliations.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting standards, statutory compliance, and regulatory reporting requirements.
  • Manufacturing accounting, cost accounting, standard costing, and inventory accounting controls.
  • Audit coordination across statutory, internal, cost, and tax audits.
  • Financial reporting, MIS, budgeting, forecasting, and analytical review.
  • Trial balance scrutiny, reconciliation management, and financial documentation discipline.
  • Internal controls, SOP development, governance frameworks, and finance automation initiatives.
  • Strong command of MS Excel and reporting tools for analysis and management reporting.

Team Size to be Handled:

  • Reports to: General Manager Finance & Accounts
  • Team Structure: Manage a team of 8-10 professionals, including 3-4 direct repartees at the Manager and Assistnat Manager levels
