Job Overview-

ZOID is a high-technology R&D startup working on critical Defence and Aerospace programs, including AI-based FOD detection systems, GNSS anti-jamming technologies, and missile decoy solutions. As we scale our engagements with the Ministry of Defence (MoD), Indian Armed Forces, and defence PSUs, we are looking for a Manager – Accounts & Finance to take ownership of financial operations, statutory compliance, tender documentation, and government-facing paperwork.


This is a high-ownership, cross-functional role combining finance, compliance, tender management, and administrative coordination. You will work closely with senior management, project teams, external consultants, and government agencies to ensure that financial controls, certifications, and bid-related documentation are accurate, timely, and compliant.


The role may involve occasional domestic travel for vendor coordination, audits, certifications, or meetings with government bodies and partners.


While 4-5 years of experience is preferred, candidates with lower experience but strong exposure to compliance, tenders, audits, and proactive execution will be considered.

Roles & Responsibilities


Accounts & Finance

  • Manage end-to-end accounting operations including bills, invoices, purchase orders, and supporting documentation.
  • Ensure timely vendor payments, track outstanding dues, and reconcile vendor and bank statements.
  • Maintain books of accounts using Tally or equivalent accounting software.
  • Record and monitor sales, purchases, expenses, bank entries, journal vouchers, and fixed assets.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, MIS reports, and ledgers.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory requirements including GST, TDS, PF, ESIC, and other applicable laws.
  • Coordinate with external auditors, chartered accountants, and consultants during audits, filings, and assessments.
  • Support budgeting, cost tracking, project-wise expense allocation, and financial forecasting.


Tender, RFP & Government Documentation

  • Independently handle preparation and submission of tenders, EOIs, RFIs, and RFPs for MoD, Armed Forces, DPSUs, and government agencies.
  • Coordinate with internal teams and external agencies to compile technical, commercial, financial, and compliance documents required for bids.
  • Manage paperwork related to:

MoD registrations and certifications

Vendor empanelment with defence PSUs


Startup / iDEX / Make / Buy (Indian) procurement frameworks

  • Liaise with certification agencies, testing bodies, and government departments to obtain, renew, and track mandatory certifications and approvals.
  • Ensure timely responses to bid clarifications, commercial queries, and compliance-related communications.
  • Maintain a structured repository of all tender submissions, approvals, corrigenda, and contract-related documents.


Compliance and Operations Management

  • Maintain statutory and compliance records for a Private Limited company (ROC, MCA, board resolutions, filings, etc.).
  • Coordinate import-related documentation including customs clearance, invoices, insurance, and logistics paperwork.
  • Track warranties, insurance policies, asset registers, and inventory documentation.
  • Coordinate with vendors, service providers, landlords, and consultants for operational requirements.


Executive & Stakeholder Support

  • Draft and manage official correspondence, emails, reports, and presentations.
  • Act as a single point of contact for finance, compliance, and documentation-related matters.


Preferred Qualifications & Profile

  • CA Inter / Semi-Qualified CA / M.Com / MBA (Finance) preferred.
  • 4-5 years of experience in accounts, compliance, audits, or government-facing roles.
  • Prior exposure to tendering, RFP/RFI submissions, or defence/government contracts is a strong advantage.
  • Strong working knowledge of GST, TDS, statutory filings, and audit processes.
  • Proficient in Tally, Excel, and documentation management.
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication.
  • Proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of handling sensitive government documentation independently.
