The role includes technical leadership, code reviews, solution design, mentoring developers, and collaborating with product and DevOps teams. Python Core: Data structures: list vs tuple vs set (mutability, ordering, uniqueness, performance trade-offs). Shallow vs deep copy (copy module, object graphs, when to use which). Decorators (function/class decorators, wrappers, metadata preservation with functools.wraps). Generators & iterators (lazy evaluation, memory efficiency, yield, generator expressions). Web Frameworks: Strong in FastAPI (type hints, Pydantic models, async endpoints, dependency injection) and Flask (blueprints, extensions). Clear understanding of Flask vs FastAPI trade-offs (sync vs async, performance, validation, developer experience). Concurrency: Multithreading vs multiprocessing (GIL implications, CPU vs I/O-bound decisions, concurrent.futures, asyncio). Security: JWT authentication (token issuance, expiry/rotation, refresh flows, scopes/claims, storage and CSRF considerations). Testing & Quality: Unit/integration testing, mocking, TDD, API contract testing (e.g., OpenAPI), linting/formatting. APIs & Data: REST best practices, pagination, filtering, versioning, error handling; async DB drivers/ORMs; caching (Redis). Deployment: Docker, CI/CD, environment configs; performance tuning (Uvicorn/Gunicorn), reverse proxies (Nginx).
