Job Purpose: The Central or Site Environment Executive is responsible for supporting the Environment Lead in ensuring environmental compliance and stewardship across mining operations. This role involves assisting with the implementation of environmental management systems, coordinating with regulatory bodies, conducting monitoring activities, and preparing reports to maintain adherence to environmental standards and regulations.

Educational Qualification:

BE-Chemicalor B.E. Environment or M.Sc. Environment

Work Experience (Range of years):

10 - 15 years of relevant experience

Central or Site Environment Executive - Mining

Environmental Compliance Support:

Assist in the development and maintenance of the Environment Management System to align with regulatory requirements.

Coordinate with regulatory bodies to facilitate the acquisition of necessary environmental permits and clearances.

Support the process of obtaining Consents to Establish (CTO) and ensure compliance with environmental regulations during project execution.

Communication and Coordination:

Work closely with internal departments and external stakeholders to gather necessary data for environmental reporting.

Assist in the preparation and submission of compliance reports to regulatory agencies, ensuring timely and accurate documentation.

Coordinate and facilitate site inspections by regulatory authorities, ensuring all findings and observations are addressed.

Monitoring and Reporting:

Conduct air, water, and soil quality monitoring as per statutory requirements using the prescribed methods and equipment.

Prepare and submit environmental monitoring reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual updates, to the Environment Lead and relevant authorities.

Assist in the development of Management Information System (MIS) reports to track environmental performance metrics.

Audit and Maintenance Support:

Support the conduct of internal environmental audits, helping to identify gaps and implement corrective actions.

Ensure that environmental monitoring equipment is maintained and calibrated regularly for accurate data collection.

Participate in safety inspections within the mining area and assist in updating safety observations in the relevant systems.

Documentation and Digital Dexterity:

Assist in the documentation of all environmental compliance activities in the company's environmental management software (e.g., Legatrix).

Ensure that all records, reports, and documentation are accurately maintained and easily accessible for audits and inspections.

Support the Environment Lead in managing environmental expenditure as per the approved budget.

Utilize assigned digital tools and software to complete daily tasks accurately and efficiently.

Continuously upskill in emerging digital technologies relevant to the role.
