- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or mechanical engineering.
- Advanced certifications in operations management or power generation technologies are preferred.
- Proven expertise in operations and maintenance within the hydro power generation sector, with a minimum of 20 years of experience.
- Strong knowledge of Statutory and regulatory requirements pertaining to Hydro/PSP Plants.
- O&M experience of large-scale pump storage power plants is preferred.
- Experience leading a team of managers, engineers and technicians for large scale hydro/pump storage power Plants operations and maintenance works.
- Experience with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) for Plant Operations and Maintenance works.
- Knowledge of analytics tools for performance optimization and risk assessment.
- Ensure reliable, safe, and efficient operation of all generating units, auxiliaries, and balance of plant systems.
- Develops and maintains safe system of work (SSOW) procedures, including HIRA, PTW, LOTO, JSA etc.
- Ensures full compliance with Statutory HSS, environmental and technical requirements from central and state governmental bodies (i.e. CEA, CERC, DSA, SCEI, AP/CPCB, Cybersecurity etc. compliances).
- To provide oversight of all operational & maintenance activities, management of the operational and maintenance teams, financial control, contract management, environmental compliance, regulatory compliance, technical compliance, risk evaluations and relationship management.
- Achieve generation targets, pumping schedules, and meet SLDC / RLDC instructions. Liaison with SLDC/RLDC, DISCOMs, OEMs, regulatory bodies and government agencies, as and when required.
- Strategic oversight of reliability centered maintenance (RCM), including preventive, predictive, condition based and corrective maintenance approach.
- Maintaining and sharing complete plant operation & maintenance records, including daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting needed to corporate office management team.
- Prepare and manage plant O&M budget and P&Ls, work to optimize the costs and maximize production. This includes developing and tracking the monthly, quarterly, and annual budgets and keeping them within approved limits.
- Responsible for overseeing endtoend O&M contract management, including contractor performance monitoring, compliance, service delivery, budgeting, and risk mitigation.
- Responsible for local co-ordination with Government authorities / clients / Vendors and local community representees. Effective Coordination and dispute settlements with O&M contractor, local community and other stakeholders, as and when required.
- Ensure availability of critical spares inventory to meet the exigencies, in co-ordination with plant maintenance heads.
- Support billing, PPA compliance, DSM management, and settlements, as and when required.
- Define and monitor O&M Plans to achieve yearly Generation targets (including minimization of APC) and yearly agreed of Plant/Machines Availability targets.
- Delegates and assigns work tasks to Plant O&M team to maintain optimum plant operations.
- Assess plant operational procedures to identify areas of inefficiency and formulate action plan for continuous improvements.
- Lead plant improvement projects, modernization initiatives, digital transformation, and automation upgrades.
- Lead, train and develop a multi-disciplinary team at Plant level: i.e. for operations, mechanical, electrical, C&I, safety, civil and other support functions.
- Develop and execute risk management strategies to mitigate O&M risks and ensure compliance with internal audits.
- Ensure implementation on approved CSR plan at plant level.
- IMS implementation at Plant and coordination with central IMS team.
