**This is a hybrid position that requires 2 days per week in the office at our Bangalore location**

Reporting directly to the Director of Engineering, the Manager, Engineering will lead a high-performing engineering team responsible for building and scaling mission-critical systems. This role combines hands-on technical leadership with people management responsibilities, partnering closely with Product, Design, QA, DevOps, and Engineering leaders to deliver reliable, scalable, and high-quality software solutions. We are looking for a collaborative leader who can drive execution, mentor engineers, influence technical direction, and contribute to the broader engineering strategy while fostering a culture of ownership, innovation, and continuous improvement.

HOW WE'LL BE WINNING TOGETHER DAY TO DAY

Lead, mentor, and grow a team of 8-12 software engineers across multiple experience levels
Manage hiring, onboarding, performance management, career development, and retention initiatives
Conduct regular 1:1 meetings, establish clear goals, and provide constructive feedback to support team growth
Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, technical excellence, and continuous improvement
Drive end-to-end delivery of roadmap commitments with a focus on quality, reliability, and timely execution
Partner with Product Management to prioritize roadmap initiatives while balancing feature delivery and technical investments
Manage sprint planning, estimations, dependency management, and risk mitigation across teams
Track and improve engineering metrics related to delivery, quality, operational health, and system reliability
Define and guide the technical direction for the team's services and platforms
Promote engineering best practices including code quality, automated testing, CI/CD, observability, security, and operational excellence
Participate in architecture discussions, design reviews, code reviews, and incident management activities
Drive improvements in scalability, reliability, performance, and technical debt reduction
Collaborate closely with Product, Design, QA, DevOps, and customer-facing teams to align on priorities and business outcomes
Communicate effectively with stakeholders and senior leadership on progress, trade-offs, risks, and delivery expectations
Contribute to organization-wide engineering initiatives, hiring efforts, and process improvements

WE SHOULD TALK IF THIS SOUNDS LIKE YOU

8+ years of professional software engineering experience, including 2+ years of direct people management experience
Proven experience building, shipping, and operating large-scale distributed systems in production environments
Strong technical expertise with technologies such as Java, .NET, Python, or Node.js along with microservices and REST APIs
Hands-on experience working with SQL/NoSQL databases and cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies, DevOps practices, and CI/CD pipelines
Strong communication, stakeholder management, and conflict resolution skills
Demonstrated success in hiring, mentoring, and retaining engineering talent
Experience driving engineering best practices across quality, scalability, reliability, and operational excellence
Experience participating in architectural discussions and guiding technical decision-making
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience
Experience in SaaS, e-commerce, master data management (MDM), product information management (PIM), or data syndication domains (preferred but not required)
Experience leading distributed teams across multiple geographies (preferred but not required)
Familiarity with AI/ML-enabled product features (preferred but not required)
