We are looking for a highly motivated Senior Admissions Counselor with a strong interest in STEM education and emerging technologies to guide students and families through their educational journey.
Role Overview
The Senior Admissions Counselor – STEM & Future Careers will be responsible for counseling prospective students, guiding them toward suitable academic pathways in Japan, supporting admissions conversions, and promoting STEM-focused educational opportunities.
The ideal candidate should possess strong counseling skills, admissions experience, CRM proficiency, and an understanding of emerging technology fields such as AI, Robotics, Engineering, Data Science, and related disciplines.
Key Responsibilities
Student Counseling & Admissions
- Counsel prospective students and parents regarding higher education opportunities in Japan
- Guide students through program selection, university shortlisting, and admissions processes
- Support students throughout the application and enrollment journey
- Build trust-based relationships with students and families
- Achieve admissions and enrollment targets
STEM & Future Careers Guidance
Advise students on academic and career opportunities in areas such as:
- Artificial Intelligence
- Robotics
- Data Science
- Computer Science
- Engineering
- Information Technology
- Business Analytics
- Innovation & Technology Management
- Sustainability & Green Technologies
Help students understand:
- future industry trends
- career prospects
- skills required for emerging industries
- opportunities available in Japan
CRM & Lead Management
- Manage student leads through the CRM system
- Ensure timely follow-ups and pipeline updates
- Maintain accurate student records and counseling notes
- Track conversion rates and admissions progress

Outreach & Student Engagement
- Participate in school visits, seminars, webinars, and education fairs
- Conduct presentations on study opportunities in Japan
- Represent Education Japan at outreach events
- Support Sakura Quest and other student engagement initiatives
Collaboration
- Work closely with admissions, marketing, and university partnership teams
- Support development of STEM-focused content and student resources
- Share student insights and market feedback with internal teams
Candidate Profile
Education
Preferred:
- Engineering Degree
- Computer Science
- Information Technology
- Electronics
- Mechanical Engineering
- AI / Data Science backgrounds
Candidates with STEM education combined with counseling or admissions experience will be strongly preferred.
Experience
- 3–7 years of experience in admissions counseling, student recruitment, career counseling, study abroad, or higher education
- Proven track record of student conversions and admissions success
- Experience working with parents and students from diverse backgrounds
