Performance Marketing Manager
Job Description
Role Overview
Maxima — parent company of Pro Standard — is hiring a Performance Marketing Manager based in our India office to be the operational backbone of our paid media program. You'll handle daily campaign QA, async overnight monitoring while the US team is offline, oversight of 1-2 Hands-on Specialists, and clean handoffs back to our US-based Director of Performance Marketing each morning.
This is the first line of defense for our paid program — catching issues before they ship, enforcing the rules the Director sets, and making sure the team in India runs cleanly without the Director needing to clean up daily.
Reports to: Director of Performance Marketing
Location: India · Office-Based
Working Hours: Standard IST daytime hours with 1-hour late-day overlap (~6-7pm IST) for daily Director sync
Type: Full-time
Working Hours Detail
This role works standard IST daytime hours, with a structured late-day overlap window (until ~7pm IST) for daily sync with the Director in the US (8-9am ET). Outside that overlap window, work is async — handoff notes, queued reviews, written decisions. We're not asking you to work US night shifts. We are asking you to be available for one focused real-time hour at the end of your day so the team stays in sync.
What You'll Own
• Daily campaign QA across Meta and Google — every build reviewed before going live (copy, links, audiences, budgets, tracking pixels, conversion events).
• Cap enforcement and anomaly response — when CPMs spike, CTR drops, or pacing looks off, you take action or flag it depending on the threshold.
• Creative rotation oversight — what's tired, what's queued, what's overdue for refresh. You keep the rotation moving.
• Day-to-day management of 1-2 Hands-on Specialists — task assignments, daily standups, growth conversations, and clear scope for each report.
• Async handoff with the Director — overnight monitoring while US sleeps, EOD note prep, morning sync to align on the day's work.
• Routine exception calls inside the Director's thresholds — clear authority to act, clear bar for escalation.
• Documentation of patterns, learnings, and recurring issues so the team improves over time.
• Performance reporting to the Director — what shipped, what's running, what changed, what needs decisions.
Mindset for the Role
This role lives in the details and runs at speed. We're looking for someone who:
• Is energized by a clean QA queue and a smooth daily handoff.
• Catches what others miss — broken pixels, mismatched tracking, audiences targeting the wrong list.
• Acts decisively within their lane and escalates clearly when they hit the edge of authority.
• Documents reasoning so the Director can trust the handoff and the Specialists can learn the patterns.
• Treats async communication as an art form — the EOD note is one of the most important deliverables of the week.
• Thinks about how the team gets better, not just how today's queue gets cleared.
Working With AI
Maxima uses AI tools that build campaigns, monitor performance, and enforce budget rules. Your role is to validate that work, catch what AI misses, and apply the human judgment that determines whether a campaign actually ships. We're looking for someone who treats AI as a teammate that produces a lot of work, and who applies clear judgment on what gets approved.
Required Experience
• 3-5 years as a paid media operator with hands-on Meta and Google experience.
• Strong written and spoken English — daily Director sync depends on clear communication.
• Experience working with US or UK clients, or in a global team setting.
• Comfortable QA-ing AI-built campaigns and trusting your own judgment on overrides.
• Detail-obsessed without losing speed.
• Comfortable managing 1-2 specialists with daily standups and clear lanes.
Nice to Have
• Apparel, sports, DTC, or licensed-goods category experience.
• Experience with newer ad formats like Performance Max or Advantage+.
• Worked at scaled Indian DTC brands with strong operational rigor.
Why This Role Matters
The Director's bandwidth is the most valuable thing in the paid function — strategic decisions, creative direction, audience strategy, ROAS gate exceptions. Without a strong Manager in India, the Director becomes the daily QA bottleneck. With one, the team runs cleanly across time zones and the Director focuses on what only they can do.
