Job Description

Role Objective:


The Product Manager (Unsecured Loans) will be responsible for end‑to‑end product ownership of Unsecured BL portfolio, including Unsecured Business Loans, Lending to Doctors, Unsecured Overdrafts, CGTMSE‑backed programs and other non‑collateralized lending constructs.

This role is designed for high‑performing candidates from Product, Business and Credit teams who bring strong experience in unsecured lending, credit assessment, portfolio management or scale programs, and are keen to move into a strategic product leadership role influencing program design, policy frameworks, pricing, risk controls and customer journeys.


Scope of Ownership


  • Primary ownership: Unsecured Loan products within Business Banking Assets
  • This role does not own secured portfolios, but works closely with secured‑lending teams to ensure clear product segmentation and risk differentiation.


Key Responsibilities


Product Ownership & Strategy


  • Own the complete product lifecycle for unsecured loan products – design, launch, enhancement and rationalization.
  • Define product positioning, target segments, ticket sizes, tenors and use‑cases aligned to Consumer Bank strategy.
  • Drive portfolio growth with a strong focus on scale, risk containment, yield and sustainability.


Credit Program & Policy Frameworks


  • Partner with Credit, Risk and Policy teams to design and refine:
  • Unsecured product programs and scorecards
  • Eligibility criteria, risk filters and cut‑offs
  • Exposure norms, deviation frameworks and early‑warning triggers
  • Act as a bridge between Business and Credit, ensuring programs are:
  • Execution‑friendly for the field
  • Risk‑calibrated and audit‑ready
  • Scalable across locations and segments


Portfolio & Risk Management


  • Monitor portfolio performance across:
  • Sanctions, disbursals and utilization
  • Delinquencies, roll‑rates, vintage curves and stress trends
  • Use data‑driven insights to recommend tightening / expansion of programs, policy changes or process interventions.


Business Enablement & Deal Support


  • Work closely with Business teams to:
  • Support unsecured deal structures and escalations
  • Incorporate field feedback into product enhancements
  • Enable sourcing through clear product articulation
  • Develop product notes, FAQs, internal decks and training material for Business and Credit stakeholders.


Process, Journey & Digitization


  • Partner with Operations and Technology teams to:
  • Improve turnaround times and approval journeys
  • Simplify documentation and onboarding
  • Strengthen controls without impacting customer experience
  • Drive journey improvements with a focus on scale, straight‑through processing and risk containment.


Governance & Senior Stakeholder Engagement


  • Support Product Committees, Credit Forums and Senior Management reviews with structured MIS and insights.
  • Track market and competitor trends in unsecured lending and recommend strategic responses.


Who Should Apply

Relevant Backgrounds


  • Business, Product or Credit roles in:
  • Unsecured Business Loans / OD
  • SME lending or lending to SENP profiles
  • Experience with:
  • Credit appraisal or score‑based programs
  • Portfolio monitoring and delinquency management
  • Deal structuring, deviations or renewals
  • Customer‑level risk and profitability assessment


Experience & Qualification


  • 8–15 years of overall experience in Business Banking / MSME / Unsecured Lending
  • MBA / CA / CFA or equivalent qualification preferred (not mandatory for strong internal candidates)
