Demand Planner
Job Description
1. Forecasting, Planning & Replenishment
- Lead replenishment to ensure product availability and minimize stock-outs
- Continuously monitor and correct ARS parameters to ensure smooth replenishment and minimize stock outs
- Plan order scheduling, vendor scheduling and warehouse receiving to ensure smooth flow of inventory from Vendor to DC to stores
- Lead demand forecasting using historical sales data, market trends, and statistical models to predict needs for perishable and non-perishable grocery items.
2. Leadership
- Lead and mentor a team of demand planners, setting performance goals and ensuring alignment with business objectives.
3. Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with merchandising, supply chain, finance, and operations teams to balance demand and supply.
- Align forecasts with promotional activities, seasonal trends, and new product launches.
4. Inventory Optimization
- Oversee inventory optimization to minimize stockouts and excess while collaborating with procurement, sales, and store operations.
- Monitor inventory levels to reduce excess stock and improve turnover.
- Ensure customer satisfaction by maintaining optimal service levels.

- Inventory health flag and monitor - overstock, slow moving and aging inventory
5. Process Improvement
- Implement best practices in demand planning, leveraging tools and technology for efficiency.
- Continuously refine forecasting models to improve accuracy.
- Manage the Sales & Operations Planning process, monitors KPIs like forecast accuracy, and develops contingency plans for disruptions such as supply shortages.
