About the role – Instructional Designer
As an Instructional Designer at Altoura, you will lead the design and development of engaging learning experiences across online, in-person, and blended platforms — with a strong focus on VR-based training & Quality. You will play a critical role in identifying organizational learning needs and crafting effective, learner-centric content to address them.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement VR training programs aligned to diverse client learning objectives.
- Develop detailed instructional storyboards that translate learning objectives into engaging learner experiences.
- Review and revise storyboards based on stakeholder feedback and project objectives.
- Develop VR training storyboards, interaction flows, and assessment strategies for industrial safety and operational training programs.
- Design scenario-based, interactive, and simulation-driven learning experiences to improve learner engagement and knowledge retention.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams — including developers, 3D modelers, and subject matter experts — to produce accurate, engaging, and immersive training content.
- Apply adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies (ADDIE, SAM) to build learner-centric solutions.
- Develop scripts, storyboards, and user flows for VR-based training scenarios.
- Conduct thorough quality checks (QC) on all learning content prior to final delivery, ensuring accuracy, consistency, functionality, and alignment with client requirements and instructional standards.
- Monitor learner feedback and training analytics to continuously improve training effectiveness.
- Evaluate training program effectiveness and recommend data-driven improvements based on feedback and analytics.
- Ensure all content is accessible, intuitive, and usable by audiences ranging from technical to non-technical backgrounds.
- Demonstrate a progressive mindset and continuously seek opportunities to improve processes, learning outcomes, and personal performance.
- Stay current with VR technology trends and instructional design best practices to continuously elevate training delivery.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, or a related field.
- 4–5 years of experience in instructional design, preferably within the VR, AR, or eLearning industry.
- Demonstrated experience designing and developing immersive learning experiences.
- Strong knowledge of instructional design methodologies (ADDIE, SAM) and adult learning principles.
- Hands-on experience with VR platforms and tools such as Unity, Unreal Engine, or similar development environments.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for developing clear and engaging learning content.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deliver high-quality work within deadlines.
- Experience with authoring tools (Articulate 360, Adobe Captivate) and LMS platforms is an advantage.
- Certifications such as CPLP (Certified Professional in Learning and Performance) or EGCP (eLearning Guild Certified Professional) are preferred.

Education and Experience :
- 5+ years of experience in instructional design, preferably in the VR, AR, or e-learning industry.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, or a related field.
- Prior experience in tools like Unity3D, Unreal Engine, or other specialized software used in AR/VR development preferred.
- Certified Professional in Learning and Performance (CPLP) or eLearning Guild Certified Professional (EGCP) preferred.
