About The Job:
- The Network Security Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining network security solutions with a primary focus on Palo Alto Networks firewalls.
- This role involves managing firewall policies, ensuring secure connectivity, configuring advanced security features, and supporting high availability and routing configurations
- Firewall Rule Review: Validate business justification for rules, check compliance with organization and regulatory standards, create implementation sheet.
- Firewall Rule Implementation: - Configure and implement approved firewall rules, apply security profiles, ensure proper zone mapping, NAT configuration, Verify rule functionality post-implementation
- Firewall Administration: Deploy, configure, and maintain Palo Alto firewalls and Panorama for centralized management.
- Routing & Network Integration: Configure and troubleshoot Layer 3 interfaces, static routes, and dynamic routing protocols (BGP). Implement NAT policies and VPN configurations (IPSec and SSL).
- High Availability (HA): Configure and maintain Active/Passive or Active/Active HA pairs. Perform failover testing and monitor HA health.
- Monitoring & Troubleshooting: Monitor traffic, threat logs, and system performance. Use CLI and GUI tools for troubleshooting connectivity and security issues.
- Compliance & Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation of firewall configurations and changes. Generate reports for audits and security reviews.
- Automation & Integration: Utilize APIs or scripts for automation of firewall tasks. Integrate with authentication systems (LDAP, TACACS+, RADIUS).
- Exp – 9 Yrs
- Hands-on experience with Palo Alto Networks firewalls and Panorama.
- Strong understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP, SSL).
- Experience with routing protocols (OSPF, BGP) and VPN technologies.
- Familiarity with HA configurations and failover testing.
- Knowledge of security best practices and compliance frameworks.
- PCNSA or PCNSE (Palo Alto Networks) - Mandatory
- ITIL Foundation (preferred)
