Mechanical Services Department Manager
PM Group is seeking a Mechanical Services Department Manager to lead the growth of our Mechanical Services (HVAC, Utilities and BMS Design) capability in Bangalore. This role is focused on developing people, building capability and growing a high-performing team supporting some of the world’s most advanced Life Sciences and Mission Critical projects.
For more than 40 years, PM Group has built a reputation for delivering complex projects for leading pharmaceutical, biotechnology, data centre and advanced manufacturing clients. Working closely with established Project Offices in Ireland, the UK and the USA, you will help develop the next generation of Design Leads, Engineers and Designers while strengthening Bangalore’s role within PM Group’s global organisation. Success will be measured by your ability to grow the team, develop leaders, build trusted relationships across our global offices and create a culture of ownership, accountability, respect and quality.
Responsibilities
Team Growth & Leadership
- Grow the Mechanical Services team by expanding its capacity with project-ready Design Leads, Engineers, and Designers.
- Recruit, develop and retain high-quality talent across HVAC, Utilities, BMS and 3D Design disciplines.
- Identify and develop future technical and people leaders.
- Build clear development pathways and succession plans within the department.
- Foster a culture of ownership, accountability, respect and continuous development.
Global Collaboration
- Partner with Project Offices in Ireland, the UK and the USA to develop capability and create project opportunities.
- Build strong working relationships across PM Group’s global organisation.
- Support engineers and designers in becoming trusted members of international project teams.
- Facilitate knowledge sharing and collaboration across offices and disciplines.
Department Management
- Lead resource planning, utilisation and capability development.
- Support employee engagement, performance management and career development.
- Ensure department growth aligns with project and business requirements.
Technical Quality
- Maintain overall responsibility for the quality and consistency of Building Services deliverables.
- Ensure compliance with PM Group procedures, client requirements and industry standards.
- Promote technical ownership and accountability across the department.
Client & Stakeholder Engagement
- Develop strong relationships with clients, Project Managers and Discipline Leaders.
- Support the continued growth of PM Group’s Building Services capability through excellent project delivery and leadership.
What Success Looks Like
- Successfully expand the department by significantly increasing team size and capabilities
- Development of future Design Leads and technical leaders.
- Strong working relationships between Bangalore and Project Offices.
- Increased ownership and accountability across the team.

Qualifications
What We’re Looking For
Experience
-
Degree in Engineering.
• 15+ years of Building Services experience.
• Experience delivering Life Sciences, Biopharmaceutical, Data Centre or related EPC projects.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams.
Leadership

Demonstrated ability to recruit, develop and retain high-performing teams.
• Proven track record developing future leaders and building technical capability.
• Strong people leadership and stakeholder management skills.
Technical

Strong knowledge of HVAC, Utilities and BMS systems.
