Position Summary
The Azure Solution Architect at Proximus will be at the forefront of driving the transformation of our IT
landscape to the cloud. This critical role is responsible for envisioning, designing, and deploying
sophisticated cloud architecture solutions using Microsoft Azure. The successful candidate will be a
strategic thinker with deep technical expertise, capable of influencing and collaborating with a range of
stakeholders, from technical teams to executive leadership.
This role requires a visionary professional who can understand the nuances of business needs and
translate them into technical solutions that are both innovative and practical. The Azure Solution
Architect will play a pivotal role in ensuring the integrity, security, and scalability of our cloud-based
infrastructure, aligning with Proximus's rigorous standards for security, compliance, and governance.
Key Responsibilities · Engage with stakeholders to capture both technical and business requirements. · Review new workload requests to ensure they meet enterprise architecture standards and strategic direction. · Based on the needs and decision criteria, propose the best path forward (Private Cloud and/or Public Cloud). · Collaborate across teams to design integrated and aligned Azure cloud solutions. · Drive Financial Governance: Implement cost management practices, monitor Azure spend, and collaborate with FinOps and procurement teams to ensure cost-effective cloud usage. · Oversee Cloud Solution Lifecycle: Manage the full lifecycle of cloud solutions, from initial design through deployment, operation, and eventual decommissioning, ensuring continuous alignment with business objectives. · Establish and Maintain KPIs: Develop and track key performance indicators and metrics to evaluate solution performance, cost-efficiency, and business value over time. · Collaborate with Operations and Support Teams: Ensure solutions remain secure, performant, and compliant throughout their lifecycle. · Lead architectural reviews and provide guidance on best practices for cloud adoption. · Design robust solutions that are scalable, secure, resilient, and cost-effective. · Validate solutions for compliance, cost-efficiency, and technical soundness before deployment. · Create and maintain architectural documentation and diagrams. · Ensure solutions adhere to security, compliance, and governance standards. · Support migration of on-premises workloads to Azure. · Evaluate and recommend Azure services and tools for specific use cases. · Provide technical leadership and mentoring to team members Required Skills · Proven experience as Solution Architect in Azure Cloud Solutions. · Strong understanding of Azure services including compute, storage, networking and security. · Proven experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools such as ARM templates, Terraform, or similar. · Knowledge of cloud architecture patterns and best practices.
· Proficiency in scripting languages such as PowerShell or Python. · Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines. · Excellent communication and documentation skills. · Ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues. Qualifications · Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. · Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor technical teams in a cloud environment. · Azure certifications such as Azure Solutions Architect Expert or Azure Administrator Associate. · Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT with at least 3 years in cloud architecture roles. · Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. · Industry certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert are highly desirable. Preferred Experience · Experience with hybrid cloud environments and on-premises integration. · Knowledge of enterprise networking and security principles. · Background in application development or infrastructure engineering. · Experience with other cloud platforms (AWS, GCP) is a plus.
