Role Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior ServiceNow Architect - CMDB to lead the design, governance, and implementation of enterprise-scale CMDB solutions. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in ServiceNow CMDB, ITOM, ITSM, CSDM, Service Mapping, Discovery, and enterprise integration architecture. This role will be responsible for defining the CMDB target-state architecture, establishing governance frameworks, and ensuring scalable, sustainable CMDB adoption across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Own the overall CMDB solution architecture and roadmap.

• Define target-state CMDB architecture, implementation strategy, and phased delivery approach.

• Design and govern CI class structures, relationship models, identification and reconciliation rules.

• Establish source-of-truth principles, data ownership models, and reconciliation strategies.

• Lead CMDB data quality initiatives including normalization, deduplication, lifecycle management, and governance.

• Architect integrations using Import Sets, Transform Maps, IntegrationHub, APIs, and MID Servers.

• Define data ingestion strategies for infrastructure, network, asset, and operational data sources.

• Align CMDB architecture with ITSM, ITOM, Asset Management, Service Mapping, and operational processes.

• Design secure access models, data segregation strategies, and governance controls.

• Review and approve technical designs developed by platform engineers and developers.

• Identify architectural risks, dependencies, and constraints and recommend mitigation plans.

• Provide technical leadership and advisory support to stakeholders and leadership teams.

Required Skills

• Deep expertise in ServiceNow CMDB architecture, ITOM, and ITSM.

• Strong hands-on experience with CSDM, CI modeling, Identification & Reconciliation Engine (IRE), and CMDB governance.

• Extensive experience in Discovery and Service Mapping implementations.

• Strong knowledge of Import Sets, Transform Maps, IntegrationHub, APIs, and MID Servers.

• Experience designing enterprise-scale integration architectures and data ingestion frameworks.

• Strong understanding of CMDB governance, platform standards, and technical debt management.

• Proven experience leading multiple CMDB implementation and transformation programs.

Preferred Skills

• Experience integrating Flexera with ServiceNow.

• Experience using NetBox as a CMDB data source.

• Knowledge of HAM (Hardware Asset Management) and SAM (Software Asset Management).

• Understanding of network and OT asset modeling within CMDB.

• Experience working in large enterprise, telecom, utility, or multi-entity environments.

Certifications

• ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA) - Mandatory

• CIS-CMDB - Preferred

• Certified Application Developer (CAD) - Preferred

• Additional ServiceNow certifications are an advantage.
