• The scope of work spans the full stack, from a React UI, to a tRPC API running on AWS Lambda, to AWS CDK infrastructure deployed across multiple regions, to integrations with Client Bedrock foundation models and internal people, learning, and identity systems.
• You will apply Client innovation mechanisms and the latest AWS technologies, including serverless compute, generative AI, retrieval-augmented generation, and vector search, at scale.

Essential Job Functions

• Own the complete software development lifecycle from conception to production, including requirements gathering, technical design, implementation, testing, documentation, deployment, monitoring, and continuous improvement.
• Design, develop, and maintain innovative solutions across a TypeScript codebase spanning React UI, serverless API, AWS CDK infrastructure, and generative AI integrations, starting with broadly defined problems.
• Drive performance improvements and technical debt reduction across the platform, including reducing API latency, optimizing Lambda cold starts, tuning DynamoDB access patterns, and improving client-side load and rendering performance.
• Lead the technical roadmap for upcoming releases, including deeper personalization, expanded AI-assisted workflows, and new integrations with internal data systems.
• Operate a multi-region AWS service, including on-call rotation, ticket triage, incident response, and security engagements such as threat-model reviews.
• Work in an agile environment to deliver high quality software, raising the bar through code reviews, automated testing, accessibility, and secure-by-default design.
• Mentor more junior team members in their career growth and influence technical direction beyond your immediate team.

Qualifications
Basic qualifications

• 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
• 5+ years of programming experience with at least one modern language such as TypeScript, JavaScript, Java, Python, Go, or C#
• 3+ years of experience designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability, and scaling) new and existing systems
• Experience building production services on a major cloud provider (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
• Experience leading the design or architecture of new and existing systems
• Preferred qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
• Experience with the full software development lifecycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
• Strong proficiency in TypeScript across both client and server runtimes
• Production experience with AWS Lambda, Client DynamoDB, Client S3, Client CloudFront, and AWS IAM
• Hands-on experience writing infrastructure as code with AWS CDK, Terraform, or AWS CloudFormation
• Experience building modern React applications with a current build toolchain such as Vite, webpack, or Rollup
• Experience integrating with Client Bedrock, other foundation-model APIs, or retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) systems backed by vector stores such as OpenSearch Serverless
• Familiarity with AWS Lambda@Edge, AWS WAF, and the CloudFront request lifecycle
• Experience with document processing pipelines using Client Textract, Client Comprehend, or similar OCR and NLP services
• Background in security engineering, including threat modeling, STRIDE analysis, secure-by-default infrastructure, and prompt-injection defenses for AI systems
• Experience designing for accessibility (WCAG 2.1 AA or higher) and internationalization
• Track record of mentoring engineers and influencing technical direction beyond your immediate team
