Middleware Administrator
Job Summary
We are seeking a Middleware Administrator to provide operational and project support across enterprise middleware platforms. The role involves managing application deployments, handling service requests, supporting production incidents, and ensuring high availability of middleware environments including WebLogic, JBoss EAP, and Apache-based web servers.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide administration, maintenance, and operational support for middleware platforms including Oracle WebLogic, JBoss EAP, Apache Web Server, and JBoss Web Server.
- Support day-to-day service requests related to middleware environments, ensuring timely resolution within agreed SLAs.
- Perform application deployments across development, testing, staging, and production environments.
- Participate in production support activities including incident management and troubleshooting to ensure system stability and minimal downtime.
- Support 24x7 operations on a rotational on-call basis, including:
- Immediate response and resolution of production incidents
- Production application deployments
- Middleware patching across environments
- Project cutover support activities
- Critical service requests upon management approval
- Collaborate with application, infrastructure, and project teams to ensure smooth delivery of changes and releases.
- Ensure adherence to operational procedures, change management, and compliance standards.
- Maintain system documentation and support continuous improvement of middleware operations.
Job Scope Distribution
- Middleware administration & operations support: 45% – 75%
- Service request support: 20% – 25%
- Application deployment activities: 15% – 30%
Job Requirements
Education
- Degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or related discipline.
Experience
- Minimum 2+ years of experience in middleware administration or engineering.
- Experience supporting enterprise middleware platforms in production environments.
- Ability to work in fast-paced environments with rotational on-call support.
Technical Skills
- Oracle WebLogic Server
- Red Hat JBoss EAP / JBoss Web Server
- Apache HTTP Server / Apache Tomcat
- Windows, Linux, and Unix operating systems
- Shell scripting (Unix/Linux)
- Basic understanding of application deployment and production support processes
Preferred Qualifications
- Middleware certifications (Oracle WebLogic / Red Hat JBoss) preferred.
- Experience in production support, incident management, and change/release management.
