Database Engineer II, FinTech

A strong candidate will be able to rapidly troubleshoot complex technical problems under pressure, implement solutions that are massively scalable, while managing multiple customer groups. Deep knowledge of Oracle Database concepts , strong administration experience, and excellent interpersonal communication skills are required.\n\nKey job responsibilities\n- Ownership of Oracle EBS, Oracle RAC clusters, working on a variety of development and maintenance projects in coordination with project and support teams.\n- Knowledge of all supporting infrastructure components, including operating systems, hardware/storage configurations and networks.\n- Excellent UNIX skills and a grasp of fundamental computing concepts such as system calls, memory management and program debugging.\n- Experience in system administration of LINUX, configuring storage arrays networks, disk configuration including multipath, knowledge of networking components such as Infiniband is highly desirable.\n- Analyze and tune database performance for high-volume, mission-critical applications\n- Design and implement robust high availability solutions (e.g., EBS Applications, Oracle RAC, Data Guard)\n- Implement and maintain database security measures, including access controls and encryption with industry standards and regulations\n- Design and implement scalable solutions to accommodate increasing data volumes and user loads\n- Develop and maintain scripts for routine database administration tasks\n- Rapidly diagnose and resolve complex technical issues in high-pressure situations\n- Identify and implement best practices for database administration and engineering\nBASIC QUALIFICATIONS:\n- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field\n- Experience in scripting for automation (e.g. Python) and advanced SQL skills.\n- Experience architecting infrastructure solutions using both Linux/Unix and Windows with specific recommendations on server, load balancing, HA/DR, & storage architectures\n- Experience in managing and troublshooting network, or experience troubleshooting and debugging technical systems and experience that includes strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and effective communication abilities\n- Experience with mission-critical, 24x7 operations\n- 5+ years of experience in Oracle EBS, Oracle and PostgreSQL Database Administration.\n- Expert knowledge of Oracle 19c, including RAC and GRID Architecture\n- Proven experience in performance tuning, backup/recovery, and capacity planning for OLTP and OLAP systems\n- Advanced proficiency in SQL, PL/SQL, and UNIX/Linux shell scripting\n- Experience managing large-scale, geographically diverse database environments\nPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:\n- Experience leading and influencing the data strategy of your team or organization\n- Experience leading large enterprise transformations with AWS/cloud services\n- Experience mentoring junior database engineers\n\nOur inclusive culture empowers Amazonians to deliver the best results for our customers.
