2. Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Oracle Database Administrator to support, optimize, and manage enterprise-grade Oracle database environments. The role involves database administration, high availability, performance tuning, patching, upgrades, migrations, and operational support for business-critical systems.
The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with Oracle Database, RAC, Data Guard, ASM, and database performance management, with exposure to engineered systems such as Exadata. Awareness of Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, Exadata Cloud@Customer, GoldenGate, and automation practices will be an added advantage.
3. Key Responsibilities
- Administer, monitor, and maintain Oracle database environments across production and non-production systems.
- Manage Oracle RAC, ASM, Data Guard, and high availability configurations to ensure resilience and continuity.
- Perform database performance tuning, troubleshooting, capacity planning, and proactive health checks.
- Plan and execute database patching, version upgrades, migrations, and platform refresh activities.
- Support backup, recovery, disaster recovery, and failover strategies for mission-critical workloads.
- Work with customer and internal teams to resolve complex database incidents, service requests, and operational issues.
- Provide technical recommendations to improve database stability, security, scalability, and performance.
- Contribute to process improvement through documentation, automation, and adoption of best practices.
4. Qualifications & Skills
Mandatory Skills
- 5+ years of strong experience in Oracle Database Administration.
- Hands-on expertise in Oracle RAC, ASM, Data Guard, and high availability architecture.
- Proven experience in database performance tuning and troubleshooting.
- Experience with database patching, upgrades, and migrations.
- Strong understanding of backup, recovery, disaster recovery, and operational support practices.
- Ability to support mission-critical enterprise systems in complex customer environments.
- Good communication skills with the ability to work effectively with customers, internal teams, and cross-functional stakeholders.
Good-to-Have Skills
- Exposure to Oracle GoldenGate.
- Experience or working knowledge of Oracle Engineered Systems, especially Exadata.
- Awareness of Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, Exadata Cloud@Customer, and cloud-based database services.
- Knowledge of DevOps practices, scripting, and automation for database operations.
- Experience supporting banking, financial services, or other regulated industry environments.
