Job Description
Join us and experience a flexible, supportive environment where your well-being is prioritized and your potential can thrive.\n\nThe Role\nKyndryl Project Managers oversee the delivery of major projects within scope, schedule, and budget. You'll be the driving force for every aspect of a program's success, and the "conductor" who orchestrates everyone's efforts to make beautiful music together. As the single point of contact to the client, you'll also be the living embodiment of Kyndryl's reputation every day.\n\nAs Project Manager, you have command of a very full and detail-oriented calendar.
You'll be constructing detailed project plans, managing teams, and leading meetings, status calls, and planning and cadence meetings. You will analyze and mitigate risks, manage finances, make sure the team has the right skills, then plan and delegate activity to hit deadlines, deliver on SLAs, and generally delight our clients. Of course, plans often evolve as a project unfolds, so you'll need to practice continuous structural thinking and take ownership for value delivery, not just task scheduling.\n\nBut as important as planning and organization are, communication is 90% of the job.
You're the single point of contact with the client, partners, and all stakeholders, supporting them and ensuring they get what they need. You're also the bridge to every other team on the project, including both technical and account roles. The result is an exciting multicultural, often multilingual environment.
Bottom line: You need to like interactions with other people and know how to be kind and empathetic but also assertive - and handle customer change requests with diplomacy.\n\nYou're going to be meeting a lot of people, networking, and forging relationships. Our "one team with the customer" concept means you'll develop especially strong partnerships with the client and elsewhere. Some projects or clients even involve "embedding" with the client at their location.
This puts more visibility on you personally, but it also gives you more opportunity to add value to the relationship. This is one of the things Kyndryls love about working here. It's a great way to hone your service and people skills, and it lays the groundwork for career growth both laterally and vertically.\n\nYour future at Kyndryl\nBecoming a Project Manager at Kyndryl is an excellent gateway to many different paths.
You'll be creating a well-rounded skillset while gaining professional certifications and qualifications. You can evolve horizontally into other technical or non-technical areas such as Technical Service Architect, or you can move vertically to become a senior project manager or program manager. There are many different types and flavors of PM roles, so everyone can find the opportunity that suits them best.\n\nWho You Are\nYou're good at what you do and possess the required experience to prove it.
However, equally as important - you have a growth mindset; keen to drive your own personal and professional development. You are customer-focused - someone who prioritizes customer success in their work. And finally, you're open and borderless - naturally inclusive in how you work with others.\nRequired Technical and Professional Experience\nOver 9 years' experience with bilingual proficiency in Japanese and English.\nExperience in the IT industry with a focus on Mainframe knowledge on JCL, zOS\nExperience working with Japanese clients.\nExcellent in Japanese skills both translation and interpretation\nJapanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) level should be N1/N2\nAdopt the given technology to meet the drift of customer and business requirements.\nSCRUM or Project Management skills\nBasic TI knowledge (architectural)\nOrganization and planning skills\nTeamwork with "one team" philosophy\nGood understanding of Excel & Presentation skills\nAbility to analyze and troubleshoot systems.\nExpected to do the work according to SOP's (In Japanese).\nProven hands-on experience in SCRUM or Project Management.\nExceptional judgment and decision-making abilities\nFamiliar with a variety of IT concepts, practices, and procedures\nKnowledge of design techniques, tools, and principals involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models\nLogic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail\n\nPreferred Technical and Professional Experience\nDemonstrated hands-on expertise in Mainframe environments, Mainframe security, RACF, and compliance areas.\nIn depth knowledge of Amazon cloud hosting architecture with experience with AWS and Azure is a bonus\nProvide support for z/OS operating systems and components, delivering direct technical assistance for releases, upgrades, and system changes.\nOffer primary support for assigned ISV products, including diagnosing issues on the z/OS platform and its products.\nHandle PCM reporting, analyse performance concerns, and provide technical advice to other IT technical teams.\nTrack record of managing IT security and compliance initiatives.\nComprehensive understanding of regulatory requirements and industry norms.\nExceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.\nProven ability to lead engineering solutions and collaborate across multiple teams.\nSignificant experience and sound judgment in planning and achieving objectives.\nSkill in applying general principles to specific cases for effective decision-making.\nStrong verbal and written communication abilities.\nExtensive background in process improvement.\n\nBeing You\nThe "Kyn" in Kyndryl means kinship, which represents the strong bonds we have with each other, our customers and our communities.
