We provide our global teams with the resources needed to achieve individual career goals while helping to take science a step beyond by developing solutions for some of the world’s toughest challenges, like protecting the environment, making sure our food is safe, or helping find cures for cancer.\n\nDESCRIPTION: As a member of the CCG EU Information Technology team, you join a hard-working, global function that improves processes, builds systems capabilities, and contributes to supporting EU colleagues aspiring to exceed our customers' needs.\nA Day in the Life:\nAs Senior Data Engineer CCG IT for Fisher Scientific Research Safety Division (RSD) EU, you will join our IT Data Analytics team, acting as a key part of the integration, delivery, and adoption of Global IT solutions (spanning across multiple applications at the Enterprise, Group, and/or Division level).\n\nThe Senior Data Engineer , CCG IT, is responsible for working in partnership with IT, ETO, and business functions to understand data requirements and translate them into technical solutions. This includes ensuring proper design, implementing robust data pipelines, performing data modeling and schema design to support business analytics and reporting needs, and ensuring data quality and integrity throughout the data lifecycle. The role also involves monitoring and optimizing the performance of data solutions to meet SLAs and scalability requirements,s and ensuring ETL processes meet business expectations and requirements.\nAdditionally, this person is responsible for ensuring the readiness of all relevant applications, environments, tools, and profiles to enable high-quality end-to-end integration and UAT testing.

The person is also tasked with warranting the deployment of high-quality solutions, as well as ensuring a proper handover to the support team after the hyper-care period, for both global projects and local enhancements.\nYou will be working with a team of Data Engineers/Sr. Data Engineers, through the execution of their role, deliver global projects, local enhancements, and break-fixes.\nKeys to Success: Experience Data Management & Development\nTake an active part in the Data Engineering efforts and building of the Data platform required by the business.\nDesign, develop, and maintain data ingestion, data processing, and data pipelines according to best practices\nDesign and build reusable components, frameworks, and libraries at scale to support analytics products\nFoster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the team.\n\nData Analysis\nCarry out the data analysis processes and techniques in areas such as requirements analysis, documentation, and business process analysis.\nParticipate in the meetings and use collaborative workshops to gather requirements, analyze potential conflicts considering global impact, and uncover expectations with key business partners.\nProduce understandable documentation of the final business requirements, success criteria, processes, use case scenarios, as well as metrics to measure the impact of changes and return on investment.\nReview design documentation with business users and represent the users with the Development Team.\nIdentifying and implementing opportunities for Data Platform automation\n\nHypercare Management\nSupport the Knowledge Transfer development & execution through to Hyper-care support, with Business, Operational teams, IT, and other functions.\nEnsure proper documentation is handed over to the support team to ensure they are aware of the changes and open issues.\nGather sign-offs / approvals from the business.\nSupport the business to ensure effective adoption of changes.\n\nKnowledge, Skills, Abilities You have a bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or equivalent. A master's degree is a plus.\nOver 6 years in the industry, with 3+ years as a data engineer in the supply chain business.\nStrong experience with SQL and data warehousing concepts.\nStrong skills in one or more programming languages related to data engineering (such as Python and Scala)\nHands-on experience with cloud environments such as AWS, Google Cloud/Azure.\nHands-on experience with Big Data and NoSQL technologies like Spark, Impala, HBase, Cassandra, Storm, Flume, Pig, or Hive\nYou have a deep understanding of design principles and architectural patterns.\nYou’re an effective communicator and mentor, able to lead and collaborate within teams.\nYou’re familiar with agile development approaches.\nContinuous learning and personal development are something you’re passionate about.\nParticipation in on-call support rotation as needed\nStrong documentation and technical writing skills\nAbility to work independently while contributing to team objectives\n\n]]>
