- We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented FinOps Associate to join our growing CloudOps team. In this role, you will work at the intersection of cloud technology and financial management - helping the organization track, optimize, and govern its cloud spend across AWS, Azure, or GCP. This is an excellent opportunity for graduates passionate about cloud computing, data analytics, and financial operations.
Essential Job Functions:
- Monitor and analyze cloud infrastructure costs across AWS / Azure / GCP on a daily and weekly basis.
- Assist in building and maintaining cloud cost dashboards and reports using native tools (AWS Cost Explorer, Azure Cost Management, GCP Billing Console).
- Identify cost anomalies, unused or underutilized resources, and flag opportunities for optimization.
- Support tagging and chargeback/showback initiatives to ensure accurate cost allocation across teams and business units.
- Work with engineering and DevOps teams to implement rightsizing and reserved instance (RI) / savings plan recommendations.
- Participate in monthly/quarterly cloud budget reviews and assist in forecasting.
- Maintain documentation of FinOps processes, findings, and optimization actions.
- Assist in creating and distributing cloud cost awareness reports to stakeholders.
- Stay updated with cloud pricing changes and new cost-optimization features across cloud providers.
Qualifications:
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Commerce, Finance, or a related field.
- Basic understanding of cloud computing concepts (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS) in any one or more of AWS, Azure, GCP.
- Familiarity with cloud billing and pricing models (On-Demand, Reserved Instances, Spot/Preemptible, Committed Use Discounts).
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel / Google Sheets for data analysis and reporting.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Good to Have
- Exposure to cloud cost management tools such as AWS Cost Explorer, Azure Advisor, GCP Recommender, or third-party tools like CloudHealth, Apptio Cloudability, or Spot.io.
- Basic knowledge of SQL for querying cost and usage data.
- Familiarity with Python or scripting for automation tasks.
- Any cloud certification (AWS Cloud Practitioner, AZ-900, GCP Cloud Digital Leader) is a strong plus.
- Awareness of the FinOps Foundation framework and its principles.
- Exposure to BI/reporting tools like Power BI, Tableau, or Looker.
