Senior Software Engineer (SDE-3)

Role Overview
We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our Platform Engineering team at SolarWinds. This role requires strong technical depth, ownership of medium-complexity software solutions, and the ability to collaborate across functions to deliver reliable, scalable, and secure software. The team is responsible for building and evolving foundational platform capabilities that enable product teams to deliver high-quality experiences across SolarWinds.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, test, and maintain software components and services for platform capabilities.
• Own medium-complexity features and enhancements from technical design through delivery and support.
• Drive code quality through thoughtful design, code reviews, testing, and adherence to engineering best practices.
• Troubleshoot product and production issues, identify root causes, and implement durable fixes.
• Collaborate with product managers, architects, and engineers to deliver scalable customer-focused solutions.
• Contribute to technical discussions, implementation planning, and continuous improvement efforts across the team.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience building and supporting production software applications or services.
• Strong proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Java, C#, Go, Python, or similar.
• Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, object-oriented design, and software design principles.
• Experience designing, developing, testing, and debugging medium-complexity systems in a collaborative environment.
• Familiarity with APIs, databases, distributed systems concepts, and modern software development practices.
• Ability to independently break down work, estimate tasks, and deliver high-quality code with minimal supervision.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to partner effectively with cross-functional stakeholders.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
