Job Summary

The Storage L3 Engineer will provide operational, administrative, and consulting support for storage infrastructure and operating systems in accordance with established technical standards and contractual commitments. The role involves infrastructure lifecycle management, incident resolution, change implementation, customer engagement, and technical consulting while ensuring high service quality and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

Infrastructure Support & Operations

  • Provide administration, monitoring, troubleshooting, and lifecycle support for storage infrastructure and operating systems.
  • Support transition and transformation initiatives.
  • Participate in planning, installation, implementation, management, and decommissioning activities following ITIL-based operational processes.
  • Manage technical and service relationships with customers, vendors, and internal stakeholders.

Incident & Escalation Management

  • Resolve customer issues through phone, email, and remote support.
  • Reproduce and troubleshoot issues in-house and provide timely updates.
  • Independently resolve single and cross-technology incidents.
  • Lead technical escalations and participate in crisis management when required.
  • Collaborate with internal technology teams to diagnose and resolve complex issues.

Problem, Change & Configuration Management

  • Perform trend analysis and root cause analysis to prevent recurring issues.
  • Prepare, review, implement, test, and rollback change records.
  • Conduct risk and impact assessments for infrastructure changes.
  • Ensure CMDB entries remain accurate and up to date.
  • Monitor patch compliance and implement security updates as per organizational policies.

Customer & Service Management

  • Maintain high-quality case documentation, SLA adherence, and operational metrics.
  • Conduct regular customer follow-ups, providing recommendations, updates, and action plans.
  • Deliver consulting support within the area of expertise.
  • Ensure excellent customer satisfaction through proactive support and issue resolution.

Required Technical Skills

Storage Technologies

  • Strong knowledge of Object, File, and Block Storage technologies.
  • Experience with cloud data management solutions.
  • Hands-on experience in installing, configuring, and troubleshooting at least two of the following:
    • Storage
    • SAN
    • Compute
    • Java

HPE Storage Platforms

  • HPE Alletra MP
  • Nimble Storage
  • 3PAR
  • Primera
  • MSA

Infrastructure & Operating Systems

  • Firmware and management experience across storage and server platforms.
  • Knowledge of SAN and NAS technologies including:
    • Ethernet
    • iSCSI
    • Fibre Channel (FC)
    • FCoE
  • Linux administration and troubleshooting (RHEL and SUSE).
  • Experience troubleshooting hardware and operating system performance issues.
  • Performance analysis, capacity planning, and security audit reporting.

Additional Technical Knowledge

  • Strong understanding of:
    • Storage Administration
    • SAN Technologies
    • Compute Infrastructure
    • Object, Block, and File Storage
    • Parallel and Distributed File Systems
  • Backup software knowledge is an added advantage.
  • ServiceNow knowledge is preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certification in SAN or Storage technologies.
  • Linux, VMware, or Windows Hyper-V administration experience.
  • VMware VCP, Linux, Microsoft, or equivalent certifications.
  • ITIL Certification (preferred).

  • Deep understanding of multiple infrastructure products and their interactions.
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written technical communication.

Educational Qualification

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent qualification.

Experience Requirement

  • Minimum 6–7 years of experience in Storage Administration and Support.
  • Must be willing to work in a 24x7 support environment with rotational shifts.
