Job Description

We're Hiring: Executive — Video Editor

RK Group | Bangalore, India | Full-Time | 0–3 Years Experience

The Role

We are looking for a video editor who understands that editing is not just cutting clips together. It is about pacing, emotion, and making someone stop scrolling or stay in their seat.

This role spans two very different formats: short-form content built for Instagram and current trends, and longer narrative work including documentaries, cultural films, and brand communication videos. You need to be equally comfortable in both worlds.

If you understand hooks, know how to build a story through cuts, and take pride in the small details that most people never notice, we want to meet you.

What You'll Do

  • Edit Instagram Reels and short-form content with a strong understanding of hooks, pacing, and platform trends
  • Cut and assemble documentary-style and long-form narrative videos from raw footage with a clear story arc
  • Edit brand communication videos including cultural films, event recaps, and presentation-style videos
  • Select and sync music, sound design, and audio to complement the mood and message of each video
  • Add subtitles, captions, motion text, and basic graphics where needed
  • Colour grade footage to ensure visual consistency and the right tone across each piece
  • Work closely with the Content Planner to understand the brief and deliver edits that match the intent
  • Manage revisions efficiently and maintain organised project files for every deliverable
  • Stay current with editing trends, transitions, and formats that are performing well on social media

Who We're Looking For

You edit with intention. Every cut is a decision, not a default.

  • 0–3 years of experience in video editing across short and long-form content
  • Proficient in Adobe Premiere Pro and/or Final Cut Pro; After Effects knowledge is a plus
  • Strong understanding of what makes a Reel perform: the first three seconds, the hook, the pacing
  • Ability to edit documentary and narrative content with sensitivity to story and tone
  • Good ear for audio: knows when music is too loud, when a pause works, and when silence says more
  • Basic colour grading skills; advanced colour work is a bonus
  • Organised with files, folders, and versions so nothing ever gets lost
  • Able to handle feedback without ego and turn revisions around quickly
  • A portfolio or showreel that demonstrates range across formats
