Job Description

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and technically skilled Pre-Sales Cybersecurity Consultant to support business development and solution engineering activities for U.S. Government and Public Sector customers. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in cybersecurity technologies, strong customer-facing skills, and a proven track record supporting sales pursuits involving federal, state, local government agencies, or government contractors in the United States.

The candidate will work closely with sales, technical delivery and customer stakeholders to design cybersecurity solutions, respond to RFPs/RFIs, conduct technical presentations, and support the overall sales lifecycle.


Key Responsibilities

Pre-Sales Support

  • Partner with sales teams to identify customer requirements and develop cybersecurity solution strategies.
  • Conduct discovery workshops and technical discussions with prospective customers.
  • Deliver solution demonstrations, presentations, and proof-of-concept (POC) engagements.
  • Prepare technical proposals, statements of work (SOWs), and solution architectures.
  • Support RFP, RFI, and RFQ responses for government opportunities.

Solution Design

  • Design end-to-end cybersecurity solutions aligned with customer business and security requirements.
  • Develop high-level and detailed architecture diagrams.
  • Recommend security controls based on industry frameworks and compliance requirements.
  • Collaborate with implementation teams to ensure proposed solutions are feasible and scalable.

Government Sector Engagement

  • Support opportunities involving U.S. Federal, State, Local, and Education (SLED) customers.
  • Understand government procurement processes and cybersecurity compliance requirements.
  • Assist customers in aligning solutions with government security mandates and standards.

Technical Leadership

  • Stay current on emerging cybersecurity threats, technologies, and industry trends.
  • Provide subject matter expertise across cybersecurity domains.
  • Support internal training and knowledge-sharing initiatives.
  • Mentor junior pre-sales engineers and analysts when required.


Required Qualifications


Education

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Engineering, or related field.


Experience

  • 2–8 years of experience in cybersecurity consulting, security engineering, or pre-sales roles.
  • Minimum 3 years supporting cybersecurity sales opportunities.
  • Experience working with U.S. Government customers or government contractors.
  • Experience supporting proposal development and technical bid responses.


Technical Skills

Strong understanding of one or more of the following areas:

  • Security Operations Center (SOC)
  • SIEM platforms (Microsoft Sentinel, Splunk, QRadar, LogRhythm)
  • Endpoint Detection & Response (EDR/XDR)
  • Identity and Access Management (IAM)
  • Cloud Security (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
  • Network Security
  • Vulnerability Management
  • Zero Trust Architecture
  • Data Security and Data Loss Prevention (DLP)
  • Security Orchestration, Automation and Response (SOAR)
  • Managed Security Services
