About The Job:
- We are looking for an experienced Microsoft 365 Migration SME to lead and support enterprise-scale migrations of messaging and identity services, as well as Teams, OneDrive and SharePoint migration experience.
- The ideal candidate will have deep hands-on expertise in Exchange Server (on-premises and online) and Entra ID, including directory synchronization, and tenant-to-tenant transitions.
- This role is critical to ensuring secure, efficient, and low-disruption migrations as part of Microsoft 365 migration project
Essential Job Functions:
- Act as the SME for M365 migration projects including Tenant to Tenant, and AD to M365 Migrations.
- Execute migrations of mailboxes, distribution groups, public folders, and calendars to M365 target tenant, using scripts and migration tools (specifically Quest ODM).
- Lead Entra ID migration and restructuring activities, including identity consolidation, domain changes, and hybrid identity configurations.
- Set up and manage Quest ODM migration tool.
- Ensure coexistence and cutover strategies for seamless user experience during migration.
- Migrate critical Microsoft 365 services such as Teams, SharePoint, and OneDrive to target SharePoint Online instance.
- Provide root cause analysis and remediation for directory sync issues, mail delivery problems, and hybrid identity errors.
- Ensure compliance, security policies, and identity governance rules are maintained throughout the migration process.
- Collaborate with security, network, and support teams and provide technical documentation, migration runbooks, and post-migration support.
Qualifications:
Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with Microsoft 365.
- 3+ years working with Entra ID (formerly Azure AD) and identity synchronization tools (AAD Connect, Cloud Sync).
- Proven track record in executing complex migration projects — including tenant-to-tenant moves.
- Strong understanding of SMTP, mail flow, connectors, DNS records (MX, SPF, DKIM), and transport rules.
- Familiarity with PowerShell scripting for migrating users, groups and objects.
- Deep understanding of identity models, SSO, federation (ADFS), and authentication protocols (OAuth, SAML, etc.).
