About The Job:

• Plans, designs, develops, and maintains ServiceNow Discovery and Service Mapping solutions to provide comprehensive visibility into enterprise infrastructure.
• Looking for a full-time ServiceNow engineer with a strong Discovery focus to join our team, responsible for expanding and governing infrastructure discovery across Adobe's global data centers and cloud environments.
• We are looking for a dedicated and passionate ServiceNow engineer who specializes in Discovery, Service Mapping, and CMDB data quality.
• You will configure and extend Discovery to onboard new device categories, data center sites, and network infrastructure while ensuring accurate, deduplicated, and well-governed CMDB data.
• You will build and maintain credential management, MID Server infrastructure, and Discovery schedules across a large-scale enterprise environment.
• Beyond Discovery, you will contribute to ServiceNow platform development — including scripted REST APIs, integrations, and automation — to support the broader ITOM ecosystem.
• You will collaborate with network engineering, security, and infrastructure teams to define discovery scope, resolve coverage gaps, and map services end to end.

Essential Job Functions:

• Configure, extend, and troubleshoot ServiceNow Discovery to onboard new infrastructure categories, data centers, and cloud environments.
• Develop and maintain Discovery patterns, probes, sensors, and classifiers to accurately identify and classify devices.
• Manage MID Server infrastructure, including deployment, clustering, monitoring, and credential management.
• Build and maintain Service Mapping patterns to model application-to-infrastructure dependencies.
• Define and enforce CMDB data quality standards, including deduplication rules, reconciliation, and identification rules.
• Develop scripted REST APIs and integrations to synchronize CMDB data with external sources and consumer systems.
• Create and maintain automation frameworks using Flow Designer and business rules to streamline discovery workflows and remediation.
• Implement client-side and server-side scripting to enhance platform functionality across Discovery and ITOM modules.
• Collaborate with network engineering, security, and infrastructure teams to define discovery scope, resolve gaps, and expand coverage.
• Participate in code reviews and quality control checks to ensure reliable, maintainable solutions.
• Stay current with ServiceNow Discovery, ITOM, and CMDB best practices, new releases, and emerging capabilities.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Engineering, or a related field.
• 3 to 6 years of ServiceNow development experience with a strong focus on Discovery and ITOM.
• Hands-on experience configuring and troubleshooting ServiceNow Discovery, including horizontal and pattern-based discovery.
• Experience with MID Server administration, credential management, and network-level discovery prerequisites (ports, protocols, SNMP, WMI, SSH).
• Proficiency in JavaScript, Glide API, and ServiceNow scripting (business rules, script includes, scheduled jobs).
• Strong understanding of CMDB architecture, identification/reconciliation rules, and data quality governance.
• Experience with Service Mapping and building application service maps.
• Familiarity with networking fundamentals — IP subnets, VLANs, DNS, load balancers, and firewall traversal as they relate to discovery.
• Experience with ServiceNow integrations, REST APIs, and IntegrationHub.
• Proven problem-solving and analytical abilities, particularly in diagnosing discovery failures and data quality issues.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively with infrastructure and security teams.
• Experience with Agile development methodology and JIRA or a similar project tracking platform.
• ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist - Discovery (CIS-Discovery), Certified Application Developer (CAD), or Certified System Administrator (CSA) are a plus.
