The Work You’ll Do
As a Junior Accountant based in Mumbai, you will join a high-performing finance team supporting a newly acquired Sovos entity in India. This is an excellent opportunity for an Accountant to build a global career in a leading SaaS organization.
You will play a key role in ensuring financial accuracy, statutory compliance, and continuous process improvement - while working with modern ERP systems and collaborating with cross-functional global teams.
More specifically, your areas of responsibility will include:
- Prepare and post journal entries (accruals, prepayments, reclassifications) in line with the close calendar

Perform balance sheet and cash reconciliations, resolving open items under senior guidance

Assist in preparing supporting schedules, workpapers, and audit documentation for assigned accounts

Conduct variance analysis vs. budgets, forecasts, and prior periods to support financial insights

Ensure close tasks are completed accurately and on time, escalating issues when needed

Participate in team meetings, process improvement initiatives, and training sessions

Build familiarity with ERP systems, close management tools, and RTR process workflows

Collaborate with AP, AR, and Payroll teams to ensure accurate GL postings and reporting

Support global consolidated and statutory audits, including the India entity

Ensure compliance with US GAAP and Canadian accounting standards
- Contribute to developing efficient accounting procedures and preparing MIS reports for decisionmaking
What we're looking for:

1 to 3 years of accounting experience; prior internship or experience in a GL or close function is a plus

Qualified or part-qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) or equivalent qualification is a plus

Foundational understanding of accounting principles (US GAAP or IFRS) and the general ledger close process

Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in all tasks

Eagerness to learn and grow within a fast-paced, global accounting environment

Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines

Exposure to an ERP system (NetSuite preferred) is a plus
-
Effective written and verbal communication skills in English
