Role Overview
We are seeking a seasoned SAP S/4HANA Presales & Functional Solution Architect who combines deep functional expertise with strong presales, advisory, and commercial capabilities. This role is pivotal in driving client engagement, solution shaping, and deal closure across S/4HANA transformation programs (RISE/GROW, conversions, and greenfield implementations).
The ideal candidate will act as a trusted advisor to clients, bridging business and technology while also influencing solution positioning, pricing strategies, and proposal development.
Key Responsibilities
1. Presales & Deal Shaping
- Lead end-to-end presales cycles including opportunity qualification, solutioning, and proposal development
- Drive client workshops, discovery sessions, and value articulation discussions
- Develop solution proposals, SoWs, and RFP/RFI responses aligned to client needs
- Collaborate with sales and alliances to build winning strategies for S/4HANA (RISE/GROW) deals
- Define commercial models, effort estimations, pricing constructs, and margin optimization strategies
- Support contract negotiations, risk identification, and mitigation planning
2. Solution Architecture & Functional Leadership
- Lead end-to-end solution architecture design for S/4HANA implementations, transformations, and migrations
- Define business capabilities, functional architectures, and integrated solution landscapes
- Provide deep functional expertise across Finance , Supply Chain and Manufacturing
- Align business requirements with SAP best practices and Clean Core principles
- Conduct AS-IS analysis, fit-gap assessment, and target solution design aligned to business outcomes
- Lead SAP Activate methodology, Solution Blueprint, and architectural runway planning.
- Experience with SAP Signavio for Process discovery, mining, benchmarking, and KPI-driven insights, Fit-to-standard validation and process harmonization.
3. Transformation Strategy & Advisory
- Define S/4HANA transformation strategies (Greenfield, Brownfield, Selective Data Transition)
- Conduct landscape assessments, readiness evaluations, and roadmap definition
- Lead custom code remediation strategy, simplification analysis, and technical debt reduction
- Advise on cloud adoption strategies (Public vs Private Cloud) and deployment models
4. Integration & Technology Architecture
- Define integration architecture (A2A, B2B, API-led, hybrid landscapes)
- Provide direction on SAP BTP, middleware, and extensibility frameworks
- Ensure alignment with Clean Core, side-by-side extensibility, and event-driven architecture
5. Stakeholder & Executive Engagement
- Engage with CxO and senior stakeholders to present transformation vision and ROI
- Lead architecture governance, design authority, and steering committee discussions
- Influence decision-making through data-driven insights and business case articulation
6. Delivery Oversight & Value Realization
- Provide architectural governance across implementation lifecycle
- Ensure solutions meet performance, scalability, and business KPIs
- Drive value realization, benefits tracking, and continuous improvement
Core Skills & Competencies
SAP & Functional Expertise
- Deep understanding of SAP core modules (FI, CO, MM, SD, PP, EWM, TM, QM, PM, HCM, GRC, MDG, Ariba, SuccessFactors) Lead cross-module solutioning for Finance, Logistics, Procurement, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Sales.
- Define enterprise-wide master data models aligned to S/4HANA best practices
- Strong knowledge of SAP Activate methodology and agile delivery models
- Experience across RISE with SAP / GROW with SAP programs
- Expertise in data migration, testing strategy, and deployment planning
Presales & Commercial Acumen

Strong ability to shape large transformation deals and multi-year programs
- Experience in Pricing models (T&M, Fixed Price, Outcome-based) , Effort estimation and resource planning , Margin optimization and cost modeling
- Ability to create business cases, ROI/TCO analysis, and value propositions
- Proven track record in winning deals and supporting revenue growth
Architecture & Technology

Enterprise architecture frameworks (TOGAF preferred)
- Expertise in SAP Transformation Navigator,
- SAP BTP and integration patterns
- SAP HANA optimization and performance tuning

- Strong executive communication and storytelling skills
- Excellent negotiation, influencing, and stakeholder management abilities
- Ability to operate in ambiguous, fast-paced presales environments
Certifications (Preferred)
- SAP Certified Enterprise Architect (P_SAPEA_2023)
- SAP S/4HANA Certifications
- SAP BTP Solution Architect Certification
- TOGAF or equivalent EA certification
