Job Description:

We are looking for a highly skilled Application Portfolio Management (APM) Developer to join our IT team. The APM Developer will be responsible for the design, development, and implementation of Application Portfolio Management solutions, primarily using the ServiceNow platform. The role requires a deep understanding of application lifecycle management, data analysis, and the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Development & Customization:
    • Configure and customize the APM module on the ServiceNow platform or other APM tools to align with business requirements.
    • Develop dashboards, reports, and workflows that provide visibility into the application portfolio, including application health, usage, and cost.
    • Implement integrations with other ITSM and ITOM modules to enhance the APM capabilities.
  • Application Lifecycle Management:
    • Manage and optimize the lifecycle of applications within the portfolio, from onboarding to decommissioning.
    • Ensure accurate application data entry, maintenance, and governance within the APM system.
    • Analyze application usage and performance data to provide insights and recommendations for rationalization, consolidation, and optimization.
  • Strategic Planning & Governance:
    • Collaborate with enterprise architects, business stakeholders, and IT leaders to align the application portfolio with business strategy and goals.
    • Support the development of governance frameworks for managing the application portfolio, ensuring compliance with standards and policies.
    • Assist in the creation of roadmaps for application modernization, rationalization, and retirement.
  • Data Analysis & Reporting:
    • Develop and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics related to the application portfolio.
    • Generate reports that provide actionable insights into application health, cost, risk, and value to the organization.
    • Design and maintain dashboards that provide a comprehensive view of the application landscape.
  • Process Improvement:
    • Identify opportunities to improve APM processes and tools, enhancing the overall efficiency and effectiveness of application management.
    • Automate routine tasks within the APM processes to reduce manual effort and increase data accuracy.
    • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in Application Portfolio Management and incorporate them into the organization's strategy.
  • Collaboration:
    • Work closely with IT, finance, and business teams to gather requirements and deliver solutions that meet their needs.
    • Collaborate with ServiceNow administrators and other developers to integrate APM with other modules, such as ITSM, ITOM, and CMDB.
    • Provide support and training to end-users and stakeholders on APM processes and tools.
Qualifications:
  • Education:
    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
    • Relevant certifications (e.g., ServiceNow Certified Application Developer, ITIL, APM certification) are a plus.
  • Experience:
    • 3+ years of experience in Application Portfolio Management or a related field, with a focus on development and customization.
    • Strong experience with the ServiceNow APM module or similar APM tools.
    • Proven experience in managing application data, lifecycle, and governance.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficient in JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and other relevant scripting languages.
    • Strong understanding of the ServiceNow platform and its capabilities, particularly in APM.
    • Experience with data analysis and reporting tools, including dashboard creation.
    • Knowledge of application lifecycle management, enterprise architecture, and IT governance.
