Sr. QA Automation Engineer

As a Sr. QA Automation Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of enterprise-scale software solutions used in scientific and healthcare-focused environments. This position offers the opportunity to work remotely while collaborating with agile, cross-functional teams to deliver robust and scalable products. You will lead automation initiatives, improve testing frameworks, and contribute to continuous quality improvement across the development lifecycle. Accountabilities
- Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks and test scripts using Playwright with TypeScript and other modern automation technologies.
- Create, execute, and optimize functional, integration, regression, and performance test cases to ensure software quality and stability.
- Collaborate closely with Scrum teams during planning, estimation, development, and validation activities to ensure comprehensive test coverage.
- Transform manual test scenarios into scalable automated tests while improving efficiency and reducing testing cycles.
- Conduct defect analysis, reporting, and tracking while partnering with development teams to resolve issues effectively.
- Develop expertise in assigned product domains and advocate for user experience improvements through quality-focused insights.
- Contribute to test strategy development, quality metrics reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives across projects.
- Support API testing, database validation, and large-scale system testing efforts to ensure end-to-end product reliability.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Science, or a related technical discipline.
- 7+ years of experience in software quality assurance, with extensive exposure to enterprise-scale applications.
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience with automation tools such as Playwright, Selenium, TestComplete, or similar platforms.
- Strong proficiency in Playwright with TypeScript and experience developing automated UI and API testing frameworks.
- Solid understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies, QA lifecycle processes, testing methodologies, and industry best practices.
- Experience working with Jira, Zephyr, or other test management and defect tracking tools.
- Knowledge of Windows and Linux environments, database testing, and large-scale distributed systems.
- Programming experience in TypeScript, Java, or .NET with the ability to build and maintain automation solutions.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and collaboration skills with a commitment to delivering high-quality software.
