Detailed JD (Roles and Responsibilities) UX Specialist-Audit Workstream
Purpose

To design and continuously improve the end-to-end experience of how auditors interact with tools, templates, content, workflows, and digital platforms.
The UX Specialist ensures that all materials and user touchpoints are intuitive, consistent, and easy to adopt — reducing friction and driving high-quality, sustainable use of new and existing processes.

Core Responsibilities

Experience & Usability Design (Across All Formats)
  • Review and redesign templates, forms, guidance materials, dashboards, and standard documents for usability, clarity, and consistency.
  • Establish and maintain a consistent visual and structural design approach across all GIA tools, templates, and content.
  • Develop design patterns, naming conventions, navigation structures, and layout standards to support a coherent user experience.
  • Streamline workflows and non-digital interactions by identifying friction, duplication, or ambiguity in existing processes.

Digital Experience & Interface Design (Tool-Agnostic)
  • Translate user needs, service design insights, and process improvements into intuitive digital user interactions.
  • Create wireframes, mock-ups, and prototypes to test and demonstrate proposed improvements to digital touchpoints.
  • Conduct usability testing, feedback loops, and user research to inform design decisions and refine interfaces.
  • Partner with Technology and Product Owners to ensure designs are feasible and aligned with platform constraints and data structures.

Content Design & Communication
  • Simplify and restructure complex guidance, process steps, templates, and communications into clear, accessible, user-focused content.
  • Develop visual artefacts (e.g., process diagrams, infographics, interaction flows) to support training, adoption, and change communications.
  • Partner with GIA Transformation and Comms teams to ensure updated materials are consistent with GIA standards and governance.

Collaboration & Governance
  • Provide expert UX input into the Design Authority to ensure user experience considerations are embedded in all design decisions.
  • Work hand-in-hand with the Service Designer to ensure the future-state service blueprint translates into practical, intuitive experiences.
  • Support Sponsors and workstream teams in testing, refining, and rolling out new or improved user experiences across regions and teams.

Skills & Experience
  • Proven experience in UX, content design, service design, or experience design in complex organisations.
  • Ability to simplify and redesign both digital and non-digital artefacts (templates, documents, workflows).
  • Strong visual design, prototyping, and usability testing capability.
  • Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, including technology, operations, and subject matter experts.
  • Skilled communicator with the ability to translate technical or detailed content into intuitive experiences
