Associate Professor(Media Science)

Minimum 6\-8 years of teaching experience in Mass Communication \/ Media Science \/ Journalism at UG or PG level in a recognised University or College<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>

Industry experience in Television Production, Digital Media, Print Journalism, Radio, OTT Content Creation, or Advertising will be given weightage<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>

Experience in curriculum design, academic coordination, or media lab management is desirable.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES<\/span><\/span><\/b><\/span><\/span>

• Teach core and elective courses in Media Studies, Film Studies, Mass Communication, Broadcast Journalism, Digital Media, and Visual Communication<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>
  <\/p><\/li>\n

• Plan and deliver theory and practical sessions - including studio work, field reporting, editing, and film production workshops<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>
  <\/p><\/li>\n

• Design outcome\-based syllabi aligned with MAKAUT affiliation norms and UGC guidelines<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>
  <\/p><\/li>\n

• Lead academic, administrative, and operational functions of the Media Science department<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>
  <\/p><\/li>\n

• Coordinate semester planning, timetabling, faculty workload, and internal assessments per MAKAUT requirements<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>
  <\/p><\/li>\n

• Represent the department during MAKAUT affiliation visits, NAAC assessments, and statutory inspections<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>
  <\/p><\/li>\n

• Supervise student projects, short films, documentaries, news production, and field practicals<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>
  <\/p><\/li>\n

• Build and maintain industry linkages with media houses, OTT platforms, news agencies, and production companies for internships and placements<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>
  <\/p><\/li>\n

• Organise guest lectures, media conclaves, film screenings, workshops, and industry interface programmes<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>
  <\/p><\/li>\n

• Engage in active research, peer\-reviewed publications, and scholarly contributions in Media, Communication, or Film Studies<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>
