Role: ServiceNow HAM/SAM Developer

An experienced ServiceNow Hardware Asset Management (HAM) and Software Asset Management (SAM) Developer with a strong background in implementing and customizing ServiceNow modules to support enterprise IT asset lifecycle processes.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, and configure ServiceNow HAM and SAM modules to meet organizational needs.
  • Implement hardware and software discovery, normalization, license reconciliation, and compliance tracking.
  • Develop workflows, automation, and integrations with third-party systems such as SCCM, JAMF, Flexera, Tanium, and other discovery tools.
  • Customize ServiceNow forms, UI policies, business rules, client scripts, and server-side scripting for asset management.
  • Manage software entitlements, contracts, and usage metrics to ensure optimal license utilization and cost savings.
  • Support audits and ensure compliance with vendor licensing agreements and internal IT policies.
  • Create dashboards, reports, and KPIs to track asset inventory, software usage, and license compliance.
  • Collaborate with ITSM, procurement, security, and finance teams to ensure end-to-end asset governance.
Required Skills:
  • Strong experience with ServiceNow platform, especially in HAM and SAM modules.
  • Proficiency in scripting (JavaScript, Glide API) within ServiceNow.
  • Experience integrating with discovery and inventory tools (e.g., SCCM, SN Discovery, Tanium, Flexera).
  • Solid understanding of ITIL processes and best practices.
  • Knowledge of software licensing models (SaaS, perpetual, subscription, etc.).
  • Experience with CMDB and lifecycle management practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA)
  • ServiceNow HAM Pro and/or SAM Pro certification
  • ITIL Foundation Certification
  • 3–5 years of hands-on experience in ServiceNow development with a focus on asset management
