Biology & Biophysics Researchers (India, Part-time)

Weekday AI
India Full Time
Reference: 8_688697_ED00205E4A

This role is for one of our clients

Compensation: $35-$50 per hour

Join a leading AI lab at the forefront of scientific AI innovation and help shape the next generation of AI systems capable of advanced scientific reasoning. We are seeking accomplished researchers in biology, biophysics, and related life science disciplines to contribute their expertise toward training and evaluating frontier AI models.

These models are being developed to reason about complex scientific topics-including molecular biology, structural biology, immunology, neuroscience, genomics, biophysics, and related domains-at the level of an active researcher rather than a textbook learner.

This role is designed for highly accomplished scientists whose research experience reflects meaningful contributions at the cutting edge of their field.

This is a part-time engagement requiring approximately 8-20 hours per week.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities

Develop Advanced Scientific Content

  • Design and review challenging biology and biophysics problems used to train and evaluate advanced AI systems.
  • Create research-grade tasks that require deep scientific reasoning and domain expertise.

Evaluate AI Scientific Reasoning

    • Molecular mechanisms
    • Experimental design
    • Structural and functional biology
    • Scientific literature interpretation
    • Biological data analysis
    • Hypothesis generation and evaluation
  • Provide detailed feedback to improve model performance and scientific accuracy.

Identify Knowledge Gaps

  • Detect reasoning errors, misconceptions, and limitations that experienced researchers would readily recognize.
  • Help guide the development of more robust and scientifically reliable AI systems.

Collaborate with Scientific Experts

  • Work alongside researchers, AI specialists, and fellow domain experts to maintain high standards of scientific rigor.
  • Contribute to ongoing improvements in evaluation methodologies and training frameworks.

Ideal Candidate Profile

We are seeking researchers whose academic and professional accomplishments demonstrate exceptional scientific expertise. Strong candidates may have one or more of the following:

  • First-author or co-first-author publications in highly respected scientific journals.
  • Doctoral or postdoctoral training from leading global research institutions.
  • Competitive research fellowships, grants, awards, or other indicators of scientific excellence.
  • Patents, technology commercialization experience, startup involvement, or funded research leadership.
  • Current or recent experience as:
    • PhD Candidate
    • Postdoctoral Researcher
    • Research Scientist
    • Principal Scientist
    • Faculty Member
    • Industry Researcher
    • Research Fellow

Outstanding senior PhD candidates and recent graduates with exceptional publication records are strongly encouraged to apply.

Required Qualifications

  • PhD (completed or in advanced stages) in Biology, Biophysics, Neuroscience, Immunology, Molecular Biology, Genetics, Structural Biology, Genomics, Bioengineering, or a closely related discipline.
  • Demonstrated research excellence through publications, scientific contributions, patents, grants, or equivalent achievements.
  • Deep expertise in one or more life science domains.
  • Strong analytical thinking and scientific reasoning skills.
  • Excellent written communication and technical documentation abilities.
  • Ability to critically evaluate scientific arguments, experimental designs, and research findings.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working at the intersection of computational and experimental biology.
  • Familiarity with AI, machine learning, scientific computing, or data-driven research methodologies.
  • Experience reviewing manuscripts, grant applications, or scientific publications.
  • Broad interdisciplinary knowledge spanning multiple life science domains.

Engagement Details

  • Part-time commitment of approximately 8-20 hours per week.
  • Flexible scheduling.
