Experience & Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in accounting or MBA finance from reputable universities with excellent academic result, majoring in Accounting, Taxation or Finance.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, Excel, tax compliance technology software and tax compliance process standards required. Proficiency with Alteryx, PowerPoint, Visio or process mapping software desired.
Minimum one to two years of recent tax compliance experience in an accounting firm, corporation, and/or law firm
Demonstrate effective verbal, written and organizational skills to communicate clearly and professionally with team members and engagement teams; attention to project details, timelines and work ethic to accomplish project assignments
Ability to handle multiple engagements concurrently, prioritize competing tasks; demonstrate attention to project details, timelines and work ethic to accomplish project assignments.
Technical and Training Skills
Beginner proficiency in 1065 on Federal and state tax compliance.
Beginner proficiency in GoRS and Microsoft Excel
Beginner proficiency in tax technology tools
Beginner awareness of the firm's technology and processes around tax compliance for corporate and partnership entities.
Prepares simple federal, state, and international tax returns, including processing book/tax differences and non-US data using provided technical inputs and tax software.
Demonstrates effective self-review and problem-solving skills to produce high-quality work with minimal errors, while working both independently and collaboratively.
Demonstrates foundational tax compliance knowledge and technology skills across key focus areas such as Partnerships, Corporate, State, or International, with awareness of industry-specific considerations and their impact on compliance and technology applications.
Demonstrates strong verbal and written communication, organizational and research skills, with keen attention to detail and a solid work ethic; excels both independently and in collaborative environments
Demonstrates effective time management skills to assist team in meeting deliverables and contribute as a productive member of a project team.
Ability Effectively communicates work status, understands project budgets, tracks key metrics, and completes performance reviews on time.
Demonstrates understanding and appropriate application of Circular 230, Tax Shelter and Reportable Transactions Rules and the Deferred Prosecution Agreement, including elevated and covered opinion standards.
Compliant with KPMG Code of Conduct, AICPA and state ethics rules, independence rules, and all other applicable firm policies and professional practice standards.
Learn and apply tax compliance process standards for multiple types of corporate and/or partnership projects from initiation through completion.
Prepare U.S. federal, state, and international tax forms and disclosures, such as Forms 1065, 1120, 1120-PC, 8621, 8865/8858, and 5471.
Participate in tax compliance and provision assistance engagements, identification and analysis of tax technical issues and interaction with additional service lines, including State and Local Tax and International Tax for multinational and domestic entities in a wide variety of industries.
Ability to handle and complete multiple tasks within a defined timeline and in accordance with quality control standards.
Work with engagement lead utilizing effective communication and collaboration skills to achieve common goals that contribute to quality client service.
Participate in periodic training and professional development.
Apply skills gained in training to optimize use of tax technology, process or improve quality of tax deliverables and services provided.
