Data Governance Consultant

The Data Governance Consultant will support the design, documentation, and execution of Supply Chain Data Governance capabilities, working closely with the Data Governance Lead and client stakeholders. The role focuses on governance artifacts, analysis, standards definition, KPI frameworks, and playbook development, operating within a structured milestone based delivery model.
This is a hands on governance delivery role, not a tooling configuration or run state operations role.
Key Responsibilities
Governance Design & Documentation
• Support development of Data Governance operating models, including roles, RACI, decision rights, and stewardship processes.
• Create and maintain governance artifacts: policies, standards, charters, playbooks, workflows, and templates.
• Document metadata, business glossary, data definitions, and Critical Data Elements for pilot sub domains.
Analysis & Readiness Support
• Conduct current state assessments, governance maturity analysis, and gap assessments.
• Support creation of DG readiness plans, Get Green plans, and rollout sequencing.
• Assist in pilot sub domain analysis and success criteria definition.
Data Quality & KPI Frameworks (Advisory)
• Support development of DQ frameworks, issue taxonomies, ownership models, and escalation workflows (non technical).
• Help define DG and DQ KPIs, baseline approaches, and measurement frameworks.
• Support adoption and readiness assessments, including scoring and reporting.
Stakeholder & Delivery Support
• Participate in workshops and working sessions with Business Data Owners, Stewards, and SMEs.
• Maintain status updates, RAID logs, backlog items, and milestone deliverables.
• Support change management deliverables—training materials, FAQs, communications content.
Scale Out & Transition
• Contribute to governance scale out playbooks and lessons learned documentation.
• Support transition planning and BAU handover documentation at engagement close.
Required Experience & Skills
• 6–10 years of experience in Data Governance, Data Management, or Enterprise Data Programs.
• Hands on experience creating governance documentation, standards, and operating models.
• Strong understanding of metadata, data quality concepts, lineage, and stewardship.
• Experience working in agile, multi stakeholder environments.
• Familiarity with governance/catalog tools like Colli
• Strong communication, documentation, and analytical skills.
